Iowa offering free tickets for the MSU game

You understand people have to park outside and walk quite a ways to the arena. Same with after the game. They aren't able to park inside Carver. You know that right?

Or, with students, they have to wait outside for the CamBus, and then wait outside even longer after the game since everyone is trying to get on the bus.

Park FREE!

Just got off the phone the manager at the local Hyvee and they will be open tomorrow even with the forecasted temperatures. Waiting to hear back from the school district to see if they are planning on cancelling classes tomorrow or not

Thought folks were complaining about the crowd for the KSU game.....

People were complaining because students weren't offered tickets for the K-State game because the game fell during break. The Jr Cyclone Club family's had the opportunity to buy those seats and then they were offered to the general public. Hilton was packed and it was certainly another sell out but just not the same atmosphere when the students aren't there.

Checking to see if you still have to come in for work?

I'll be surprised if schools aren't cancelled in Eastern Iowa. If it's too cold to walk from the parking lot (free parking) into Carver it's way too cold for kids to be walking to schools and waiting for buses
I’m just glad you’ll be working

Looks like he's fallen on hard times...

And so we are really talking apples to apples, here's a shot of what it looks like when we play a Top 5 team at home in basketball. Again, we didn't have to invite people in off the streets to accomplish this:

not to mention the students who would be camping out right now for those front row seats.

Quite a few of my friends have been going to a lot of Wild games lately. I may hit up a Wolves game once a year but it sounds like the Wild draw pretty well.
Wild games suck for the atmosphere of a hockey game. Bucs games even being junior league are a lot more fun, granted hopefully they have a new stadium coming in a few years as buccaneer arena is showing its age.

I have lost any motivation I had today after watching that video. I linked to Frankie's video blog and I really love his enthusiasm. At first I wasn't sure why i was laughing...then I realized we all love to be that excited about life and not give a rip what others think. He has pictures with his fans. Videos are great. One video he shows his hot dance moves then interrupts himself and acts out being chased by a growing posse of gorillas and monkeys.

ps. the folks that comment on his youtube channel seem to be very kind.

Frankie has a new fan right here. :)

If Iowa fans put half as much energy into supporting their team as they do concocting reasons why they can't support their team they'd maybe fill the place up to 2/3rds capacity. The reality is Iowa State and Iowa fans have all the same factors at play. Both, for most, involves a drive. Both are in cold climates. Fans of both teams have to figure out how to get to games with kids. But the reality is one gym is constantly full and is widely considered one of the best arenas in America, and one you have to give away tickets to get people to come. There's no argument there.
