This speaks volumes about both Campbell and ISU! I know that Manning sees this as the easiest path to a Head Coach position. But the fact he's wanting to do it through Campbell and at ISU is absolutely awesome!

Its almost like he never left!

P.S. Manning's work with Brian Bobek was outstanding. I think Bobek was our MVP that year. We were so different when he was not in the game. Like Farniok before him.

Hofner was an analyst and not a "coach". Him leaving has no effect on the # of "coaches" we can have.

I always thought it was a slightly curious move to go to the Colts. It was not an unreasonable one by any stretch, but I figured Manning was either...

(1.) an obvious candidate to promote to head coach, if Campbell were to leave

(2.) if Campbell kept it up in Ames, a guy who would get college head job considerations

Seems he is back into that catbird seat now.

That seems like a link to an old page. Not seeing anything about Manning on the current website coach list or directory.
