I know literally nothing about Marshall’s football team, but if they are ranked ahead of Iowa then yes, they must have had a damn good defense and probably did have a better overall defense than Iowa.

Yeah, because some people use total defense. I don’t think that’s a very good stat though because of the vast differences between teams and conferences in strength of schedule, pace/tempo, etc.
Mississippi St. finished with the #1 total D and #7 passing D in the nation playing in the SEC against the #11 SOS.

Like I said earlier go share your lack of intellect with your brethren on HN and stay off CF. Even Gonzo said your numbers are off. That coming from a Hawkeye poster on here. I guess Stanley's lack of mobility also helped with "opponent-adjusted defensive efficiency rating". Stanley would never make it in the NFL. He has the speed of a sloth. Don't think he would fit into the offensive scheme of an NFL offense.

Stanley also faced a lot more blown coverages than Purdy did according to Benji
They were high on him. I got mocked in November when I broke the news that he wasn't with the team. Their DL could be rough next year
Huge loss for Iowa I feel. Starters will be solid, but won't have much depth. DL is the one single position group that actually gets rotated out during games. Will be a key to their season next year to see if they can develop some depth between now and the season starting. DL depth was the downfall of the 2010 team.
How many scholarship DL do you guys even have now? I feel like you guys just lost a ton and didn't really replace any of them
You guys will be fine. I doubt the DL will be as good as this year, but when was the last time you had a subpar DL outside of 2010?
