Wigginton

He’s a great prospect and makes highlight plays, but he’s not yet good at making others better, and certainly not yet the kind of player immune to losing minutes. Our best performances have come without him.

Who on this team can get in the lane at will? That creates opportunities for other players. I am going to agree to disagree, but if I’m putting my money on any player on this team it’s going to be Lindell.

Nobody is mentioning what the true achilles heal for our team is right now: cold players for the opposing team breaking out of their slump. First with that no name junior college player the other night for Baylor. Then diarrhea breaks out of his shooting woes to drill a couple trays. Why We have that kind of Crappy luck is beyond me.

Defense?
Seems to me you have a plan based upon history. But, when it’s not working you need to adjust. Not sure we are good at doing that. I suppose you are playing the percentages, but in game adjustments are necessary.

No doubt Wiggy is an exceptional talent and he'll come back and play great ball as the season goes on. My only concern would be that he begins to press if the big games don't return soon. He likely decided after last year's draft he was coming out and feels he's on the clock.

I love wigginton and think he'll be fine.

That said, its got to be some sort of psychological torture for the kid - just 4 months ago he's thinking he's going to average 20, contend for b12 player of the year, and be a 1st rounder. Ends up getting hurt and now he doesn't even start and is nowhere to be found on all the mock lists.

I think it’s game planning. Bad shooters are good shooters when they’re wide open. Less game planning, more basic shell drill. We need to get less cute. We gotta spend some time figuring out how to be a good defensive team with Lard/Conditt as the focal point on defense because that is how we reach our potential IMO.

I'm not giving up on him, but I am sick of people acting like he should be starting and playing 35 minutes. Honestly, his poor play was a major reason we lost today. Way more than some bad coaching. He just continually drove in there and fell down and missed shots. He rarely looks for his teammates. And I'm not convinced he is not a cancer in the locker room.

You are achieving Argent levels of dumb in this thread!!!!

Re-watch the game. We made our come back and took the lead when LW came in for Babb. The ball was flying around and we were getting good looks. You ***** about him driving into the lane but that driving into the lane is what we need, no one else even tries it. When LW drove in the lane it sucked the defense in and 3 times he found the open guy for a three, unfortunately the open guys didn't knock down the shot.

My only gripe with LW is he needs to get the ALPHA attitude back like he had last year and take over the game. Right now he is being to passive (but so are most of the guys on the team). We need him being aggressive and getting in the lane because it seems like everyone else on the team is afraid of contact.

Lindell reminds me of Naz when he came back from surgery. Not quite himself, maybe not 100% healthy, trying to force things. My simple guess is he's trying to salvage his plans to go pro after this year. He looks like he just needs time.

My worry is we are playing him too many minutes before he is truly ready. Disrupting the chemistry while trying to make it all work. It could click any time, but who knows.

Not really sure what LW's issues are, but he is not playing anywhere near the level he was at the end of last year. His shot has just not been there, especially the 3 pointer. Maybe he still needs to recover more. Whatever is going on, I hope he gets back to where he was soon. That would have won the last two games.

Nobody has a bad thing to say about Wigginton right now if Babb just knocks down a wide open game winning 3 assisted by... Lindell.

Even if Babb had, Lindell is still struggling. It's normal and expected, but he is not himself. And I have to believe its having some impact on chemistry.

I miss FR Wigginton and Lard as much as the next guy but what I’m saying is you wouldn’t be seeing the hero ball comments and fans openly saying they wish he didn’t return to Iowa State if we win yesterday and were 13-3 and 3-1 in the Big 12.
