Fail.

We have 2 quarterbacks better than Stanley. Having no Willie Harvey is a joke. Having Brents and Hankins sorry tookuses over Peavy is a bigger joke. Having your Smith rejects over Butler makes me question if you have brain damage. Having Seargent over Montgomery confirms it.

Willie Harvey no longer plays for Iowa State.
Brian Peavy no longer plays for Iowa State.
Hakeem Butler no longer plays for Iowa State.
David Montgomery no longer plays for Iowa State.

Derp.

Interesting take.... I guess most people would probably select that guy who leads Smith-Marsette in every statistic except fumbles and balls bouncing off their face mask for interceptions. But in your defense as an Iowa fan I wouldn’t expect you to be an expert in WR play.

Jones “leads” Smith-Marsette by 5 receiving yards despite having ~ 20 more catches. Jones is nothing more than a check down receiver, whereas ISM is a much more dynamic player and more of a downfield threat. If you would rather have the WR who has averaged 9 and 8 yards per catch the last two seasons, have at it. I’ll take the dynamic playmaker with nearly equal production and loads more upside.

Okay, Akers avg 18 ypc. So clearly he is more dynamic that any of Iowa’s WR.

PS Why is leads in quotes when even you are agreeing?

Kinda funny how those lists only include 2 TE/ 3 WR/2 RB’s whenever you want to throw an extra Iowa player in there.

I get it.

I’ve never put 2 RBs on any of my lists, and I used 2 TEs with Fant and Hockenson because they were clearly two of the best pass catching threats on either team. Smith and ISM are better than Kolar or Allen, so I went with a third WR rather than a 2nd TE. The positional flexibility also works to Iowa State’s benefit (i.e. including Uwazarike at DT when he otherwise would have been left off the list behind Bailey and Epenesa).

How is ISMs blocking? Jones does a fantastic job blowing up dbacks to spring receivers downfield and to hit bubble screens. He also does a nice job with run blocking. He led the team in receptions his freshman year so he is an all around back.

Not that it means anything, but just thought it was interesting comparing Butler's stats this year to Hockenson's two years.
