I guess Iowa's collapse will start in March this year...

I said this before we played them. Everyone was all "Iowa sucks, we win by double digits."
Then we got spanked and the tune changed from "Iowa sucks" to "Ok well, they're a solid team"
No! Just, NO! They are horrible and we got embarrassed in IC. Bad loss.

You’re doing it wrong.

We didn't bring our injured guys (Wiggi and Young) in for just that game, and Lard and Talley were just playing in their 2nd game of the season I believe.

This isn't that hard. And the Iowa players definitely get up a lot more for this game than the ISU players do. Many of them are from Iowa and have built up a hatred of ISU.

we just arent there yet. Hopefully we do soon though, the talent is there.

A lot of talent. Especially BabyMadFran. He can really shoot free throws.

Remember when Iowa fans were excited about Dailey and he told the Register he was going to grow to 6'8 before he stepped on campus? A 6'8 PG!

I don't know what Prohm's preparation for playing in Iowa City is, but he better figure that **** out. As I predicted, Iowa would be red hot from beyond the arc, and we wouldn't be able to buy a long range bucket. We really could have used Wigginton's ability to get to the rim.

Every Iowa fan knew that Dolph was right about Dailey, but Franny sure didn't like it.

I couldn't care less about Wiggi and Young being out. Take one look at our roster that we had available for that game. You can't tell me with a straight face that that roster isn't far more talented than what Iowa trots out there every night. Bad loss. Always was. Always will be.

Don't let that game bother you so much. In the scheme of things it doesn't really matter that much. We weren't even close to having a full roster out there for that game either. We will still go on to have a better season, as usual. That's all that matters.

I wouldn't worry about it too much. Two years ago the Rag's headline was "Behold the Buzzsaw" with a photo of Naz.

I'm more worried about some of the games we play against Baylor and WV.

The only way I could see them righting the ship is to win 3 out of their next 4. That would mean they would have either 2 Top 25 wins at home, or a couple road wins which would get them back in the mix.

After last night I don't see any indication that is happening. A more likely scenario is Garza comes back and at least gives them some resistance in the paint and they beat Nebraska. Then go on the road and get embarrassed twice followed by another loss to Ohio State at home.

I still cannot fathom how the Wisky and Michigan State games weren't deemed important enough to play Pemsl, but the ISU game was.

It really proves that Fran cares about that game more than anything else. He must feel like as long as he wins that game, the fans of Iowa will love him no matter what else happens? Just weird.
Well, Pemsl is NOT a D1 player - so he shouldn't even be playing D1 basketball. But even low skill players can have a "decent" game now and then. For Pemsl, his role in our game was simple - shove, push, talk trash and flop; Push the boundaries of what is legal play (& even cross the line) to disrupt ISU's game. To his, and Fran's credit, they accomplished it to a "T" and our guys let that bush league stuff affect them and their play. Away from CHA, the refs ain't giving them those same breaks and calls, and Pemsl can't pump himself up enough against other teams to play very well - so he is pretty much useless in all other scenarios.

The game two years ago was actually worse, Monte essentially admitted they didn't take them seriously.

That's a bad deal when they hate your guts and Super Bowl.

They will beat Nebraska. Every year people say "Nebraska is good this year" and they aren't. Same thing this year.
I agree. I predict that it will be a close one, but Iowa will get many favorable calls, shoot 32-38 FTs, and that will be the difference in the game.

I will spend the next year breaking into spontaneous, WTF expressions, as I ponder how we gave up 98-points to them ?#$???
