It was pretty good. I am the same way, fun show, reminds me of old school movies I watched as a kid.
That's good enough for me. I was disappointed that the new season didn't come out this fall.
Yep, this is how I would describe it as well. Season 1 was just so unique to me and Season 2 was not as good but definitely not bad at all.
Very nostalgic for me.
If you didn’t like season 1, I don’t know how much you’ll like season 2. But from how the Duff Brothers have described it, season 2 was necessary in giving you a better feel for the world so seasons 3 and 4 can be kind of wall to wall bangers. It was originally said by the Duff Brothers that they only wanted to do four seasons, but I think they’ve walked that back a little (I’m sure the money and success have a lot to do with that walk back.)
Little late to the party just watching Season 2 but I really liked it.
Adding Paul Reiser was a pretty obvious nod to the fact that they'd be borrowing from Aliens heavily in the season and it did not disappoint. Ditto for Sean Astin meaning it was going to be more like Goonies.
S1 was ET/IT
S2 was ET/Aliens/IT/Goonies/Gremlins
Also mix in a little x-men comics for season 1 and a LOT of x-men comics for season 2. For people who thought comic book heroes began with the MCU, x-men stories like 11's and 8's were the most popular comics of the 80s even though those stories wouldn't make it on film for 10-20 years.

But it doesnt take that long for regular tv, they film usually the same amount of time yet they have new seasons every 12 months. Should not matter whether they are released all at the same time or not, the regular tv usually have about half the season done by the time the season starts. They still should be able to release every 12 months.
