Based on what?

Just my opinion. I think Minnesota is the better team with athletes (except the o-line and maybe special teams) and with Stefanski calling the plays we should win. THE game will come down to which QB make sure the least mistakes.

You think the Vikings d is better than the bears? Ok guy.

Yes with the exception of Khalil Mack, who does Chicago have???
They have 4 defensive pro bowlers... Out of 11 positions. Hicks, mack, Jackson, Fuller. Roquan Smith has like 120 tackles and 5 sacks as a rookie.

Harrison Smith, Xavier Rhodes, Anthony Barr, Eric Kendrick’s, Everson Griffen, Daniel Hunter, Linval Joseph, Sheldon Richardson. That’s 8 out of 11 defensive positions with pro bowl selections and experience. Not to mention Daniel Hunter leads the league with like 13.5 or 14 sacks.

Aaron Donald would like a word with you.

Vikings fan here...the Vikings might have the better overall roster, however, the difference in talent between the Bears' strength (d-line) and the Vikings glaring weakness (o-line) is enough to make up for the rest of the overall difference. The Vikings may have more athletes and playmakers on offense compared to the Bears, but if the Vikes' OL can't stop the rush, the entire offense is neutered. This is exactly what we saw the last time they played. That and the Vikings defense couldn't contain Trubisky.

Are they tied for first?
No, Donald is in first. Hunter isn't even in 2nd. He's 3rd.

Look, Minnesota's defense has the potential to be just as good or better than Chicago, they just haven't performed that way consistently. I'm a lifelong Vikings fan, but I can admit when another team is playing better, and Chicago has played better, overall this season. And you shouldn't underestimate the players that Chicago has on defense. They are significantly more than just Mack and a bunch of no-names. They're strong at all three levels.

That doesn't mean that Minnesota can't or won't win on Sunday. I really hope they do. I hope they put it all together.

Agree, and it's mainly due to significant injuries this year. Hunter is probably their only stud player who has been healthy all year. No continuity.
Now Kendricks may be out. Too bad, we'll need him against the Bears.

Bears D is excellent and feeds off turnovers. Trubisky will be their downfall in the playoffs. Could be against the Vikings if Cousins can avoid turnovers - a big “if”. And, that would mean that Cousins didn’t lose the turnover battle in this Sunday’s game. Better chance with our new OC, but we’ll see.

Agreed. Problem is, Cousins fumbles a lot and he will be getting hit a lot with the bears D against our OL.

If Rams get a good-sized lead Sunday I can see the bears start to pull their starters out as game goes on.

Yeah, I saw that Nagy was sort of non-committal when asked that question. Definitely could happen.

New OC has to make a point that Cousins can't hang on to the ball in the pocket past a couple seconds for any reason. Short, fast offense.

Old habits die hard. It's not like Cousins just recently started hanging onto the ball for too long.

A guy 7-8 years into his career isn't just all of a sudden going to change in a matter of weeks. Where Stefanski can help is running more (check) and calling pass plays designed to get the ball out quickly.

I think this matchup is pretty simple - whichever QB can manage to somehow not turn the ball over, that team will win. Cousins got a lot of heat the first time these two teams played, and rightfully so, because he was awful. But at the same time Trubisky literally tried to throw the Vikings back into the game multiple games.
