Iowa Football Recruiting

So right in line with the B1G West champs?
What's your point in all of this?

This is an Iowa football recruiting thread, I am point out recruiting trends is all. Weird how they kind of fall in line as you analyze them. Big ten has depth but no elite teams, Big 12 is not recruiting at an elite level unless you are the top 2. All kinda goes with how the NFL draft goes too. Also, using it to kind of prove ISU is not really better than Iowa, or anyone in the big 10 west honestly when they cant even recruit better than them. Sure, they beat West Virginia, OSU, but that is not a huge deal when you look at the depth of those teams and the conference talent level as a whole in recruiting.

Lets be real here. We can both agree that Nebraska can suck a fat one, but they are going to be good in the near future if Scott can coach a little bit.

ISU is a top 25 team, Iowa is not. How can you say ISU isn't better?

Because they are not a better program if they are 3-4 spots higher in a subjective ranking. Lets say Iowa went 8-4 after not being great for years, they would be certainly be in the top 25 also. Lets not forget that Drake game. ISU had a lot go their way this year. They also have the same record as Iowa with a win over WV (16), a team that beat a Texas team who lost to Maryland. I am told Iowa underachieved a lot on this board and that they would be monumentally better with 1 player this year. Which would have them ranked better than ISU, who is 24th.

If you honestly think ISU is the better program that is fine. I just think Iowa is equal to ISU right now. I have said that this whole year. ISU could get better here soon, but I would not bank on that if recruiting does not get above Iowa, which it hasnt.

ISU beat WVU and played a much tougher schedule than Iowa. That's why we're ranked and you're not. Your best win was us by a mile

I said if Iowa had a player like Eno, Purdy or Montgomery they would be better than ISU. An elite player can make a huge difference, especially at a skill position

The transitive properties game. Northwestern lost to Akron who lost to Iowa State. I guess we could have won the West.

@BCClone spot on.

I think the big 12 is overrated by a lot. They do not have an elite team and the only teams that conference beat that were any good were from the same conference. For comparisons sake, Iowa beat ISU, a ranked team at 24 outside of their conference slate. Big 12 is not a great conference.

Oklahoma isn't an elite team?

This OU team looks better than the '16 Sugar champs that beat Auburn, the '13 Sugar champs that beat Bama, and if Hollywood Brown plays could be better than the team that lost a double OT playoff game last year to Georgia (after the Heisman winner got drafted).

This is a really bad take, but nice try.

Seriously though, you guys have been here for a year, talking about Iowa recruiting and hating anything positive about Iowa while bashing it. Pretty impressive IMO.
