Nothing to link to yet, but watching WHOTV13 just now. D Senator from Waterloo has a bill ready to submit this session to require the state schools to play each other at least annually in BB. Argument - it is in the public's best interest that money being paid to out-of-state schools (that will continue to be on the schedule for Iowa and ISU) would be better spent keeping in state (i.e...paid to UNI) .

All they have to do is show up in Ames and they are welcome to play. Now IC might be another subject.

With all the ******* problems happening this is what these ******* boobs spend their time focusing on. Sure, makes perfect sense.

Why would Bill do such a thing?

Heard on the radio they're siting one reason as because its our tax dollars.....pretty sure Iowa and ISU aren't using tax dollars for sports.

Sure we all want to play Drake/UNI, but the logistics just doesn't work in ISU's favor anymore to do home and home. Life isn't always fair.

This is nothing more than grandstanding in order to curry favor with the local voters. It won't go anywhere, but the senator (is it Danielson? He's pretty much a dope) can say, "See, I tried! I have UNI's back!"

It's no different than the guy either last year or two years ago who wanted to siphon athletics revenue from ISU and UI directly to UNI.

Iowa and ISU do not receive any state tax dollars directly for their athletic departments. If there has been any school that has been helpful and accommodating to the other schools its ISU. Even played them in football.

They probably still can force things like this but it does create ill will to force it.
