ISU living rent free in Iowa bb head

Losing to a bunch of tryhards in Iowa City doesn't matter that much. We'll see who has the better season.
So this post has derailed my attention from our occupancy of the space we occupy in the heads of the players and coaches at Iowa.

I have been hearing this phrase a lot from my teen boys. I don't understand it. Both are athletes. I don't get the notion that putting in work at practice is a bad thing. Where has this phrase come from?

Tryhard:

"In online video games, it is that guy who is giving it 110% all the time because winning and/or having a high kill/death ratio is more important than just having fun. Try hards are most common in games like Halo or Call of Duty and are frequently seen yelling at their teammates for dying a lot.
Gamer: lol I accidentally killed myself XD

Try Hard: SERIOUSLY?!?! STOP BEING AN IDIOT AND ACTUALLY TRY!!! WE HAVE TO WIN THIS! I'M GOING 16-4 RIGHT NOW!

Gamer: Dude, quit being such a try hard."

Basically, how Iowa plays against us at 180% because they want that win more than anything else in life.

Oddly they said almost exactly that but your explanation made actual sense to me.

I've never tried to hide the fact that I watch and like Iowa basketball, I've openly admitted that numerous times, Im not pretending to do anything.

You are openly admitting that you "watch and like Iowa basketball"? Really? Yikes. That says everything I need to know. Not many people can openly admit they like watching Fran and his style of play.

You do realize that just because 50 of your buddies on here hate Iowa basketball, that there are many of us who take interests in other teams? Especially when they are in our own state?

Not many people like watching high scoring offense and a decent transition game?

Is there anything that you DON'T ***** about?

What did you "Fix" for him?
And I really do think you underestimating with that "50 of your buddies" line. You do you, though.

Iowa is the most paranoid fan base on planet earth. Scared of ISU's rise in football and our success in basketball the last decade, and they're equally scared of Nebraska football's future.

The amount of time certain Hok posters spend on this board tells you all you really need to know. /thread
