Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

How any Iowa fan can argue with an ISU fan right now is beyond me. I, as a hawkeye fan, defended my team and thought they would be good in basketball for years, then last year happened..... Now at the start of the year I was getting happy and cautiously optimistic, but thought we would start losing again, which has come true. ISU is better than Iowa basketball. They get better players, they recruit better, they are the better program. Iowa needs to get rid of Fran but our dumb AD made that impossible, so now we just wait....... And by wait I mean I find another hobby. Maybe watch the NBA

I agree with all of this when it comes to basketball. ISU has been the better program for a long time now in basketball and Barta needs to go.

For the record, I predicted Iowa to win at most 18 games, but I think we are closer to a 16 win team. That would mean if and when we drop the ISU game, we would have to win the 5 remaining to get to 11. I realistically can see Iowa losing a lot of big ten games right now. I think we win 6 at most. so 16-17 wins. God that will show progress and Barta will give Fran a vote of confidence for it because he returns most of the roster, minus Moss (please go pro) Cook, and Baer. I do not like Cook as a player right now. He presses to much and tries to be Draymond Green out there but plays like an aged Jokim Noah.

Why would Moss go pro? He wouldn't even get a G League look

Last four years Iowa is 4-0 over ISU in football, 4-0 over them in wrestling and 1-3 against them in basketball. 9-3 right now. After Thursday night it will either be 10-2 or 9-3.

He is referring to Cook. Problem is Cook isn't an NBA player, has too many holes in his game. NBA caliber athlete, absolutely. But not NBA caliber skill-set.

Or jump shoot. Or defend at even an above average ability.

His running in to people game on offense is really strong though. Iowa as a team and program is just so unlikeable. And on top of that they never make the tourney so it makes them seem even more dickholeish.

Iowa doesn't have a single NBA caliber player on their roster.
I think Cook is a guy who could really benefit with a solid G League year if a team were willing to give him a 2-way contract. He's got the make up to be a guy who could stick somewhere, but there are certainly areas he needs to improve as well.

Mmmmm I flunked sixth-grade math, but if it is 9-3 now and Iowa wins wouldn't it be 10-3? And if ISU wins wouldn't it be 9-4? Using your example BTW

I think they'll go a little higher than that. I don't envy you guys, because Fran's teams have been streaky. Just when you count them out, they go and reel off a few nice wins. Just when you count them back in, they implode.

Four year time span. An ISU bball win would drop off after Thursday night's game.
