I'm just going to take this is as the first round of the playoffs for the Twins. I think they have to win 5 of their final 6 to have a chance. 3 of those being against the Sox.

I agree. It's like being down 3-1 right now, where they need to win 3 in a row.

I'm going to be rooting hardcore, but lets face it, chances are slim.

We're throwing all of our pitchers that are slumping and they have their best ready to go. BUT, the game is not played on paper and we're tough in the dome.

When was the last time the Sox played well in the dome? Let alone when the season was on the line.

I see Twins winning 2 and having to sweep the Royals for a chance.

Well, good news for Twins fans in that they miss Danks. Hopefully we can clinch and rest him for the playoffs.

Vazquez, Buehrle and Floyd....it's on you.

Hopefully D-Weezy can continue the hot play.

GO ROYALS!!!! nothing personal jonesy...i wouldve been cheering for the royals anyway obviously. but being a spoiler is sweet. and spoiling the twins is even sweeter.

Scenarios:

Sox sweep: Sox win Central
Sox win 2-1: exit series up 3.5, Twins must sweep, Sox must get swept and lose add-on game to Detroit to force one game playoff
Twins win 2-1: Sox exit series up 1.5 with magic number of 3. Sox finish with Cleveland (and one game with Det if needed)
Twins sweep: Twins exit series up .5 game with all hell breaking loose.

You'd want the Twins to really make sure they finish more than a half game up....cause then the Sox would get the Tigers and then the Twins at the Cell for a half game playoff, where our winning percentage is around .667.

Honestly, from this point out it is on the Sox. They control their destiny.

That's deep. It wasn't all that clear to me... I thought the Twins controlled it and were favored to win the division....

Seriously, If you look at the loss column, the Twins are 3 games behind the Sox. If the Twins sweep, the Twins and Sox are tied for first. Afterwards, as long as the Twins do better than the Sox in the final series, the makeup game won't matter.

IMO, if the Sox win today, it's over

Jerk.

Which Javy will show up tonight? Unfortunately, I have night class and a test to study for, so I can't follow it all tonight....

Seriously, does anyone think there is a place in Ames that I could catch this game at? T

THE most frustrating part about living in Central Iowa is that I never get any Twins or Wild coverage.....

Must see TV for the next 3 nights, I love it. I might make a road trip to the dome for a game or 2 wednesday and thursday since my boss is going to be gone at work and this series is important. Reminds me of the last week of 2005, thats a good thing.

No matter what, complete credit to the twins for completely over achieving what everyone thought would be a bad season.

You forgot the word "to" in your member title.

Likewise with the Sox. When Kenny Williams said this spring that Detroit's acquisition of Cabrera only strengthened Detroit's chances to compete with the White Sox, it seemed ludicrous.

The Sox and Twins emerged with the best pitching in the division, and here we are.
