He definitely has big balls, sometimes a little too big (but then again, when it works out what feels like 80% of the time, why not?). The only thing holding him back now is I think we've identified what his max (realistic) throwing distance is, and sometimes the extended plays can outrun that distance just a hair.I actually like that he has the sac to throw “contested” balls to Butler and crew. Let Butler do Butler things....
I worry about some of the hits he takes when he takes off. I agree. Good to see Purdy sliding and avoiding hits. What bothered me about yesterday is that we could've run that dink-and-dunk offense from the 4th quarter all day long yesterday. KSU was giving us that, we just weren't taking it. Purdy was fantastic running it, too.

When you have a canon for an arm it’s tough to calibrateFatty would over throw Butler

The Drake QB is probably smart enough to adjust. When you have a canon for an arm it’s tough to calibrate
Let’s be fair...Purdy underthrew his receivers a few times. Fortunately Butler is the type of receiver that can still come back and overpower the DB. Did result in one of the INT’s thoughIt is crazy to watch Purdy has yet to overthrow a open receiver yet in his career and Stanley does it at least once a week

Overall Purdu was very good and in “command” very mature for a freshmanYeah he lofts it for sure. I think those are actually harder to catch for a receiver since it's not a routinely timed throw.
Had some good stuff in the 4th quarter though.
ISU can be better if they just focus on getting what's available (6 yards on a 3rd and 5) more consistently than going yard.

Honestly, I don't know if I agree with that. Overthrown longballs are just another down. Underthrown longballs tend to end up as INTs (when your WRs aren't gods, at least).Under throwing >>> over throwing
Not always. With Butler I’d say yes. It also opens up the INT possibility.Under throwing >>> over throwing

That looks pretty cool....and dangerous. I want one but I’d probably blow myself up which would kind of blowView attachment 60328
If he had rcvrs that are sub 6 40, or athletic, or mentally tough he could probably manage that “canon” more closely.
