Maui, Early Dinner and Tommy Bahama

I’ve only been too Kauai and Oahu and I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the north shore. I think I’d go back there before I go back to Kauai.

Kauai is my favorite island, but I think even in a vacation I’d get bored after three or four days. I only lived on Oahu (not the North Shore though, because I’m not a millionaire) so it’s probably a slanted viewpoint, but my favorite of the major four to visit would be Kauai, the Big Island, Oahu, Maui.

In terms of where to LIVE, as a 35 year old man, Oahu, Big Island, Maui, Kauai.

Drive the other side of the island if you want tight curves. Those are nailbighters

Yeah, the northwest area of the island, you know, the one where the car rental places tell you not to go, is awesome to drive through. Narrow roads right alongside the cliffs and great areas to stop and get pics.

I always tell people to keep driving past Hana like someone already mentioned. There are some breathtaking views of the eastern shore of the island from way up on the road looking down. Not many people drive that area, definitely none of the tour buses. It's serene and very enjoyable. It's an all day trip though, for sure. But well worth it for a guy like me who loves to get away from civilization for a little while to enjoy nature.

Completely not true. What most people don’t realize is that you have to get out of the car and actually hike to things worth seeing. Which most aren’t willing to do
There are some neat waterfalls and a couple markets... but when I am spending a week in paradise, I don’t want to waste the better part of a day driving around the island.

You obviously have a different view of paradise. Hiking not driving. You can go halfway and see things you won’t see anywhere else

Any “unofficial” location for pre game drinking going on before our game tomorrow?

Pop up RockSalt Sports Bar at the Team Hotel The Sheraton. Lots of Clone fans. Saw the team headedsomeplace around 1pm and just saw JP checking in when I was at the front desk. Ready to rock n roll.....go clones.

The boys got lei'd last night!

The Sheraton resort is effing humongous. I'm sorry if any of the rest of you are stuck with the hike to building 6.

We are in Building 6. Straight view of the ocean and quite. Not a bad walk at all. We are on top of Black Rock. Go Cyclones.

For those that didn't have tickets I hope you were successful getting some.

If you are only there for a few days then sure. We were last there for a week and while there's plenty to do in Maui, we felt like this wasn't taking away from time on anything else by doing RTH. I mean Maui is a nice island, but the beaches aren't even all that nice there except a few. They are nowhere close to the best beaches in the world no matter what the guidebooks tell you.

What I've personally found is that even in these types of places, sometimes you have to search for the actual amazing places. I can't think of a place where I've been where this hasn't really been the case. Most of the hotels and such truly aren't situated on the best beaches in a lot of places around the world. There's more to find out there which is why I trust what locals have to say more than the guide books.

If you are just looking to not do any "hiking" and want to just see things on the side of the road for Road to Hana, then it's not worth it. The best stuff you have to hike to a little bit. I'm not a big outdoorsy (camping, fishing, etc) person but I can name many places where a little bit of hiking led to some absolutely amazing places I'll never forget that definitely solidified the "paradise" thing.

But to each their own.

Fan fest is only place to buy beer but the DJ has it a bit too loud for this crowd. Other than that it's like a high school football game with different booths for stuff

Seen any scalpers over there? I’m 10 min down the road and want to come over to try for tickets but don’t want to spend the $20 for parking if no one is there selling
