I know they will be reviewing whether DM will be suspended for the 1st half of TX but can they suspend anyone else?

Obviously I’m mostly talking about Butler. Is there any chance the big XII comes back and suspends him for the TX game?

Oh, my. Mmm, Big 12, Texas, bias officials, Hawkeye commissioner and an opportunity to **** Iowa State.

We're ISU, so heck yes. And we're facing the Almighty Texas Longhorns too, so Butler will probably be gone the 1st half, Montgomery will be upgraded to having to miss the entire game, CMC will have to sit the game out for not looking at Rhule during the handshake after the game, and to top it off... Bowlsby will assess us another 25k fine for the beatdown we put on the Bears.

They have already suspended DM for the first half next week. The second part is one question I have been wondering about. Will they review ALL of the tape and and out further suspensions?

Sure, I believe Bowlsby/Big 12 can review and assess/upgrade suspensions or fines anytime for any conduct. Just like the recent fine on Baylor and our fine for rushing the field. Similar to the NFL commissioner there’s not a lot of checks and balances except for easily denied appeals.

If they did suspend Butler, surely the guy that took DM into the drink cart and that taunting CB from Baylor should get something too right?

That's my thought. It is a double edged sword. I feel that they should be doing more but at the same time they very well might come down on Butler and others for their involvement which is less than ideal with a big game next week.

Maybe it could be like the judicial system and we can keep it wrapped up in appeals until the ICW game or the season is over ;)

The could suspend 10 guys from Baylor and i won't care one way or the other but Butler being out would really **** us. Thinking how bad it might **** us has gotten me thinking the commish is going to have a hard time resisting it.

In an unprecedented move, Bowlsby and the Big 12 will demand we can no longer have Campbell as our coach and must trade him as coach with a coach from any other FBS university in the state of Iowa. Our choice of who that FBS university in the state of Iowa is, though.

The fact it is again the Brawling Bears makes me worry that the excuse "to take action" will be to send a message with more suspensions.

******* Baylor.

I’m sure Big 12 Bowlsby would prefer seeing anyone but Iowa State in the playoff

If anything considering the history Baylor has with fighting on the field they should be looking at some hefty suspensions and fines from the league. This is the second time in two years for them doing something many teams historically have never done. League needs to send a message to Baylor coaches that they cannot turn this into a habit. The coach cannot be pointing at last week and blaming the officials for lack of player control.

That is not going to happen without also hammering us. :(

Yes the conference will review the video and yes they can hand out additional suspensions. But after watching it several times, there is nothing that gets particularly close to an additional suspension.

A pancake block and trying to get up shouldn't result in a suspension.

Maybe keeping his hands on the Baylor players shoulders for too long gets a 15 yard penalty of some sort (not sure though?), but a suspension would deserve an appeal and CMC would need to be vocal about the whole context of the play including the defensive holding and Butler being held down by indisputable video evidence.

DM engaged with and made contact in the fight out of his choosing, so a half is reasonable and within the rules.
