Just saw on ESPN News that Brad Childress is announcing Gus as the starter for the rest of the season.

Well, as a Vikings fan I say it is only a good thing if they actually get more than one receiver on the field. It seems we have two or three TE on the field and one receiver to go out on a pattern and then are surprised that guy is double or triple teamed. I would like Brad to be fired, but I don't see that happening yet. That offense makes me want to scream!

Yeah, that's a dumb statement to make, that he'll start the rest of the year. The Patriots kind of did the same thing with Cassel...how in the world can you say he will be your starter the rest of the year? What if he comes out and sucks? Frerotte has never really been consistent...

Well I think its common sense that if his arm falls off he won't be starting the rest of the season.

If the Vikings don't make the playoffs Childress needs to go, and I think he knows that so that's why he's making the switch, because he's always held strong with Jackson and this seems like he's giving up on him.

For the love of god! Why dont we just bring back Brad Johnson, Warren Moon, or Randall Cunningham, what about Culpepper?

Gus will lead the Vikings to a win this weekend. He is a seasoned vet and can get the things done that the Vikings will ask of him.

He won't turn the ball over, he will manage the game and take some pressure off of the run game.

I hope the cut Jackson tomorrow. He has been awful.

I agree, Minnesota should have traded to get Sage. I think the Vikes D is good enough to compensate for a QB that is there to just manage the game and not F-up. That is exactly what Sage would have brought and more.

I can see Minnesota rallying and winning on Sunday. If they don't, then the season is a total loss and coach and T-Jack are gone for good.

May God save the Vikings.

Brad Childress knows his job is on the line and he made TJack the scapegoat. What most people don't know is that Gus was a backup with us 2 or 3 years ago, came in and performed well so he knows the offense. Smart move i believe. I put the vikes at zero chance of trading for anybody...garcia, sage etc...

He'll start, until this happens again...

Don't they have John David Booty? Give him a shot. He cannot be worse than Jackson or Ferotte.

Looks like 2008 Vikings will be playing for a top draft pick.

I went to vikings training camp and JDBooty did not look good. He also didn't play well in the preseason games, while gus did.

JDBooty may be the future though.

Gus hasn't been aweful his infrequent apperances. The passing game probably improves from completely abismal to barely adaquate. They lose a little in mobility ... but what do they care if Gus gets sacked, he's nothing if not disposible, and he doesn't have fumbling issues that I know of.

This smells of desperation. But he can't be much worse. He just needs to be efficient. Hand the ball off to AP, get out of his way, and don't throw INT's
