I heard this from ESPN this morning when they were goin through the games and talking about tavaris jackson and everybodys lack of confidence in him except brad childress. They didnt give any details but just said they tried and failed to get him.

I am glad this didnt happen because Im a huge PACKERS fan and it would have been hard to root for him. It would have been like the ellis hobbs and patriots which I hate the patriots.

BTW, my fiancee is a vikings fan and her whole family. A fun rivalry where my team almost always WINS

Go PACKERS

Does anybody know anything about this attempted trade?

They inquired about Sage in the offseason. They offered a 3rd rounder. Houston wanted a 2nd rounder.

Boy, I bet they would like to have that decision back! Good judgement once again by Childress and company.

Prediction: this weekend Carolina has 11 men in the box on every snap. 0-3 here we come!

I'm guessing Chili wishes they would have gotten this trade done. Tjax is not cutting the mustard and Zygi has Chilis job in his sights.

I think it would be great for either one of them to become a Viking. I was at the Colts game this weekend and the Minnesota fans had some strong opinions for Jackson anytime he through an incomplete pass. Some were even talking about how good they could be if they only had Brad Johnson taking the snaps.

Yeah, but Childress sucks whoever's the quarterback. Stick Favre in there, and Childress still sucks.

Besides both Sage and Seneca might be good quarterbacks, but they only have a limited ceiling. No reason to overpay for either.

And I'll still give Jackson time. He did miss most of the preseason--and did Berrian or Rice even play Sunday? That's not exactly a great corps of receivers.

As a Packer fan, I'm glad the Vikes didn't get Sage. As a Cyclone fan, I'm very disappointed. He needs an opportunity to play somewhere - as does Seneca.

Once the Vikings go 0-16, they will move to Memphis and their nickname will be the Flying Elvi, Their road unis will look like gold suits, and the home like jumpsuits. The Helmets will be decorated with pompadours and sideburns. The cheerleaders will be the Lisa Maries, fried banana sandwiches will be sold at the concession stands. Then, and only then, would it be OK for Seneca or Sage to be traded to this organization. What a dream that would be

The other big issue that will be a factor for 2 more games is the suspension of McKinnie. The fill-in LT was responsible for the pass rush that stripped the ball from T-Jak in the 3rd qtr. The deep ball is the best way to burn a stacked defense, but it's hard to pull off when you can't control the opponents best pass rusher.

The defense also needs to hope that Williams can be cleared to finally see action at SS in the next few weeks. The rookie back there cost them the Colts game.

Spoken like a true Puckers fan. And I suppose that it will happen--when they go 0-16. Fortunately, they still have the Packers to beat like a drum in Minnesota, so that won't be this year.
My poor, deluded Viking friend, give up the purple and gold dream that will never happen, and come with us to the promised land of cheese. Once you're in, you will never want to leave.

I hope Tjax improves but its certainly more his issue up til now than the WRs. Berrian isnt awesome but an upgrade. Rice did play but got hurt during the game (dont know when - it wasnt on here). Having Mt. McKinney back will help if hes in shape (munchies). Your right - chili sucks in any case.

And no Brad Johnson would not be better. It looks like he has arthritis and can barely move, including his arm. I dont remember him shotputting the ball when he was here way back when...

What cost the Vikes the Colts game was the inability to score touchdowns and settling for FGs...

I don't fault Childress for giving TJ a chance to play and see if he's an NFL starter or not. What I do fault him for is not having a credible backup who can step in if/when the TJ experiment fails.

KFAN's Mark Rosen had what i consider the best statement about TJack, yesterday on the radio: "If T-Jack were playing in baseball, he'd be at AA level right now."

... i think everyone agrees he has talent, but, to me at least, it's apparent that playing at 1-AA school doesn't prepare you nearly as well as playing with the big boys in the powerhouse conferences.
