another option to mitigate unadorned white pants would be uniform socks, but that is a NFL thing and is basically asking for the moon in ncaa...
Mrs. Gaggi and I liked the white pants. The overall look seemed clean and not overdone. We don't care for the all red combination, as it appears to be too bloody.
I can't believe they wore white cleats on Saturday. It's after Labor day
I enjoyed it. Could it be better? Sure.
Is it better than our uniforms the last ~10 years? Absolutely.
Still can't wait for the all-white combo on the road, going to look killer.

Which is great, because these are not good looks
Sure, yellow pants or helmets would be fine. But as a primary jersey color it is awful.
White pants fit ONLY with white jerseys from the looks of it. It doesn't appear that there's enough white in the black jerseys that it'll look good with those either. The only way white pants work in any combo is if the other coordinating pieces have some sort of white detail.
Black pants will work great with the Cardinal jerseys. And I look forward to seeing those.

Yeah it is a little bewildering. But remember when I was coming up w/ all these crazy uniform ideas and combos? I got slammed and rightfully so, they were largely horrible and I didn't know any better. Now we have a coach who has chosen this current scheme, and we are slamming him and it pretty bad at times. Is that what we really want to do, this soon? Sure I like everyone's opinion and think that is great and OK, but...
Remember this, The players love the uniforms so far, atleast that's what we've been told, so there's that. The c/c/w, while not the greatest look, wasn't THAT bad. White pants will go w/ anything (just as the black ones will, or should, w/in reason, but we don't know, haven't seen yet). It could have been much better w/ black or red shoes/cardinal/or gold accents below the knees, but that didn't happen. Even switching to white facemask for the Akron game (like the KC Chiefs) would have made a nice difference, and tied the pants to the helmet. Easy things to change/add in future, no big deal. (Still c/c/w not the best combo, but we don't have gold, YET).

Isnt this the Hot Dog Vendor Combo? We look like were are serving up Vienna Beef Suasages.
The combos, w/ a little tweaking the right way, should largely fit together. But we haven't seen too many combos yet. Interesting we would get the c/c/w combo, not tweaked the right way, so soon.
About adding stripes to the pants, jerseys to tie different combos together? Maybe, I'm not sure. I've come to realize that SIMPLER and more CLASSIC might be best/better. That's what we have now for sure. YMMV.
And the gold pants would've looked great, much better than the white.
I agree, and w/ this current set, I think it maybe does look the 'best ever' g/c/g we've had (or could have). Match the black collar w/ some black shoes/socks, your set, classic, simple.
When I think of Arizona State, this is the combo I think about the most. Would love to see us do this once before I go to the big house!
Thanks a lot for doing this. The yellow pants look 10x better than the white ones. Not even close, and your comparison shows that quite clearly.

That's what that combo looked like on Saturday. Like several have said already, no white in the helmet and jerseys mean you should not have white in the pants. It's really pretty easy.

In regard to more use of yellow, I sure hope Iowa State "ships" their pants soon! And helmets too!
