Has anyone ever purchased a "refurbished" iPad from Amazon?

It makes me a little nervous, interested if anyone has purchased one and their experience.

My kid broke theirs and I don't want to shell out for another new one that will eventually end up smashed, even if stored in Kevlar.

TIA

I bought a refurb IPOD from apple a million years ago. I still use it in the car to play tunes. No hesitation, I'd to do it again if I needed anything.

My daughter is using a refurbished Macbook Pro at ISU right now. Has been great for her.

Never had good luck with anything refurbished, but perhaps Apple is different.

I've purchased plenty of refurbished stuff (including from Amazon) and never had an issue, although never anything from Apple.

For higher dollar items you may want to check the company's website (apple in this case) to see if it lists authorized refurbished sellers - hopefully it'll match up with whoever's actually selling it on amazon.

We got our preschooler a refurbished iPad Mini for Christmas last year, as he is rough on stuff. He's dropped the damn thing a dozen times, and it's still working great.

I've purchased several refurbished items over the years and never had a problem. Just make sure you are purchasing from a reputable seller. I personally don't buy anything off Amazon that isn't sold by Amazon themselves (no third party sellers.) I'd also make sure it was refurb'd by the ORIGINAL manufacturer and not just some Joe-Bag-O-Donuts on the street who ran a Clorox wipe over it and called it good.

I would buy from Apple (and have) but I would we leery of any other group.

I bought a refurbished iPad 2 about 7 years ago and it's still in use (primarily as Netflix/Hulu/Spotify device).

This would likely take care of the poo dust, though.

I spent about $2500 on a refurb macbook pro thru their website and picked it up at the Jordan Creek store probably 5 to 6 years.
It looked brand new and still runs great.

I tend to buy factory refurb when available... To be honest, they get a more detailed inspection than one brand new off the line would.

I have never had an issue with a factory refurbished item.
