So you are fine with the final AP votes you just don't like it during the season?

Yep, I'm totally fine with the end of season top 25 AP poll.

What isn't valid is saying a team is #26 when voters only vote for a top 25. If I have to explain to you how that makes #26 invalid (as a top 25 was only submitted) then I suggest that you go back and take some more schooling at ISU, as you missed a few important things.

Are you trying to argue the team receiving the most votes that's not in the top 25 isn't the #26 team in the country? Lol

Um, yeah. There is a reason they aren't ranked #26, and are only listed as having received votes. If you don't submit a ballot for a top 26, there can be no #26 ranked team.

Do you seriously not understand this? I could go through at example to illustrate this to you, but I don't feel I should have to, it is self evident.

I'm just happy Legend Hawk is cool with final AP votes and confirmed who the best team in the state was last year. Happy Tuesday!

They received votes to be in the top 25 poll, not to be in the top 26 poll

I agree with the AP top 25 last year, neither Iowa or ISU deserved to be ranked.

There is no way to know who is #26 if AP voters didn't vote for 26 teams. The votes totals wold be completely different if all the voters now submitted for 26 teams instead of 25. If the AP voted for the top 30, then there is no #31. If the AP voted for the top 50, there is no #51.

How do you not understand this? I get that someone without education might think it is static, and well the next amount of votes is ranked #26. If you have a college education I'd think you would understand why this isn't the case though.

Yeah there is. Colorado is currently #26

Same reason Texas gets ranked preseason every year...because they’re Texas

Wins and losses head to head should matter, but they also shouldn't be everything. It's good to have a blend and take the complete resume into account. I'm definitely with you on Texas being overrated every year in the preseason (both sports). However, 3-1 with wins over TCU and USC should have them ahead of Maryland no question as of now.

that’s reasonable

Even better question, why is BYU rated below Wisconsin. Same record, one team has played 3 P5 teams and 2 top 25 teams and beat the other at their place. The other team beat Iowa.
Because they were ranked highly preseason...another example with what’s wrong with the AP poll. How does VTech even receive votes after losing to Old Dominion? Because they beat FSU, which is crap but was ranked preseason
