I'm guessing they're doing some last minute checking on the best way to incorporate yellow/gold for the uniform. May involve contacting the conference or NCAA on rules/waivers or something.

Here's a far fetched example: they have some yellow uniforms left from last year but not enough for everyone to wear. So maybe they are seeing if some can wear yellow practice jerseys or something.

Maybe just the gold pants. Finding enough jerseys then names and numbers for the gold would be waaaaay harder than like 80 pair of gold pants.

Yes, white helmets with white pants would look better. But I am also purdy sure Akron wears white helmets (at least for away games), so I assume that is the reason we went red.
But i'm just happy we are trying something else out that isn't the cardinal color-rush.

Big whiff by the designers on the pants. If the goal was to be able to mix and match, there's nothing on the pants that connects it to the tops unless it's black pants.
