Iowa Football Recruiting

How about all the time there were four non-conference games? Iowa scheduled home and homes with Arizona St., Syracuse, Pittsburgh (twice) and Arizona. Where was Pollard's awesome deals to schedule home and homes with P5 teams then?

Was this pre-CMC?

FWIW I don't pretend to be as connected as some on here, but I heard thru official channels that there was mutual interest with at least Mizzou.

Then why didn't they schedule it? I mean ISU has two other non-conference games, at least that is what all the ISU fans say when bringing up Iowa's non-conference schedule.

You already know why, but I'll boost your ego. ISU struggles to get bowl eligible, and needs a few cupcakes to make it more likely.

Plus, as you already know, they don't want to lose a home game, just like Iowa and Barta!!!

This right here. Now all of a sudden two SEC schools want to schedule home and homes with ISU?
Did you happen to see the Iowa State vs Mizzou basketball game last fall? They want to rekindle the old Big 8 matchups, the same with Nebraska and Colorado (who just played each other in football).

So here we are under the Iowa football recruiting thread where numerous Iowa posters that have had previous usernames are, wondering why ISU doesn't play two non-con P5 games.
This is great.

ISU played 6 home games last year when they traveled to a MAC school so thats not it.

ISU plays at Ohio in 2023 and has 5 away conference games the same season.

Did Pollard say they are starting this after 2023 or when?

Hah, I didnt go far enough down that page. ISU is playing at Arkansas State in 2025 and has 5 road conference games that year as well.

Yeah, like we are to believe they were entertaining the idea of getting 1 of 2 SEC teams for a home and home.

He said **on the radio** something along the lines of once the contract obligations are up, we will not look to do home and home series unless it is a p5 school.

Edit: I'm not certain they are obliged to the game in 2023 (likewise in 2025)
Edit 2: UNLV is the only noted home and home series. Your link may not be accurate:

Again, check the accuracy of your link, and talks did happen. It is in the same realm as the ND/Iowa talk...
