Brewers Fire Yost

Wow. Makes you wonder if there isn't more to the story. No way can you fire the coach of the BREWERS after the season they are having. Can you?

His team has given up. Read some of the quotes from the players, particularly Ryan Braun) after the sweep at the hand of the Phillies. I've never though Yost was much of a manager. He always has made some extremely questionable decisions during the game over the years I've watched him manage. He's got a completely loaded line-up. No reason they shouldn't make the playoffs. And they are facing an uphill battle to do that now...

I'd love to see this completely back fire on them. You know they are hoping this provides a little spark to during this playoff run. It would be great to see them keep losing and then watch Sabathia walk away at the end of the season.

The Brewers have invested a lot into this season. CC will be gone after the year, so I guess it might be worth a shot to see if they can shake things up and make a run the last 2 weeks.

As a Brewers fan. I kind of agree. There must be more to this story, as was mentioned previously. Otherwise, it's crap.
I wonder what Jaimie (Brewers fan) Pollard thinks of this.

Brewers have some questionable characters. Yost had no control of that team. As a Cards fan, I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I'd rather see the Cubs in the playoffs before the Brewers.

Shocking they did this before the end of the season. At least let the guy miss the playoffs first unless they are that confident a change now will save their season?

Yost was a fool. He made absolutely atrocious pitching changes in the 6-9 inning range. I wish I could only count on two hands how many times this year the Brewers have taken a 2 or 3+ run lead into the 8th and gotten beat by 2-3+. Ridiculous.

The Brewers do have the fire power to make the playoffs. It's just a matter if they can get their heads on straight.

They probably consulted with him before the firing. Jamie knows all.

Cubs magic number is 6. How I would love to get it this home streak and not have to worry about playing in NY and MKE.

Well other than when CC was pitching. How many complete games has he thrown for the Brewers? Some were even blowout games which you take your ace out after 7 or 8 innings to keep his arm fresh. In August he threw 3 complete games in 6 starts. One was a 9-3 win where he threw 130 pitches. The others 7-0 and 5-0 wins. I can see when you have a 3-0 or 3-2 game which he's gone 9 in, he also threw 9 in a 9-1 win in July against a crappy Giants team.

No, but they were confident that not making a change would ruin their season. The Brewers pretty much went all in this year, and they've choked away their lead yet again. Sabathia and Sheets will be Brewers for about two more weeks.
