Iowa Football Recruiting

Almost committed to Iowa on his visit over the summer because he was so impressed. Unfortunately, his older brother is on the team at UNC (think he was suspended in their recent scandal), so they may ultimately be tough to beat.
That’s always a nice tool.

ISU has landed a few good recruits because siblings were a big part of the recruitment.

Crystal Balls rolling in for the Hawks for Illinois TE Josiah Miamen. Offers from Wisconsin, Michigan, Penn State, Notre Dame, and Michigan State, among others. Supposedly down to Iowa and Wisconsin, and should be deciding soon.

Would never blame a TE for choosing Iowa. They've put a lot of them in the pros, and their offense lives and dies by them. They are critical.

No I don't. The only QB's I know about are Fat Stanley and the Oregon State decommit

I’ll amuse you, he was part of the class that had all the Texas commits who ended up decommitting. Him and Matt Hankins might have been the only 2 that stayed committed. Redshirted last season and is the backup now. Smaller, more mobile QB than Stanley. No way he plays this season unless Stanley gets hurt or it’s mop up time.

If Stanley keeps playing like he has he'll keep his job? Serious question

If I'm an Iowa fan the part that's concerning was that last year drops played a role in his numbers. So far this year, it seems to be more on him, right?

It is mainly drops again this year plaguing his numbers. I think there were 6 vs NIU and I think like 4 vs ISU. He is should be about 37/51 right now for a 73% completion rate. I'm ok with that.

I know, he needs to clean that up, far too many drops for him over the last 2 years. Reminds me alot of Lazard in that respect.

If I was KF I would have Fant working on his run blocking more than drops.

It's funny @benjimill thought Iowa's WR's would be solid this year and they could potentially be worse than they were last year when it was decided they were the worst in all of P5 football
