Biggest disadvantage in the CyHawk Series since 1980

I sure hope the original poster is correct, because if the offense can't play better than that it is going to be a very long season.

Also, time to let this thread die. ISU will have another shot at Iowa next year. Seems like CMC just needs to take this game more seriously, and maybe hire an OC.

Southern: 201 (OK'ed by Iowa fans)
Drake: 230 (Likely to end up with multiple fatalities if the game was played)

Presbyterian? A religion has a team?

Southern and Presbyterian were the only two FCS scholarship programs that were allowed to schedule one more game if they wanted to. Now that can change if the hurricane cancels a bunch of games but those were our two options and one of them already said no

Sagarin ratings for the 3 teams we know of that have been contacted by ISU

Southern: 201 (OK'ed by Iowa fans)
Drake: 230 (Likely to end up with multiple fatalities if the game was played)
Presbyterian: 240 (OK'ed by Iowa fans)

Cause sagarin ratings are real accurate after two weeks. Nice try.

All I'm saying is the options JP was given are very limited and not good opponents. I don't understand what you want him to do but it's not like Southern and Presbyterian are on a different talent level than Drake. They're really bad FCS teams

It doesn't really make sense why Hawks are up in arms about it. I get it that they hate everything JP, but enough already.
Does anyone really care who we play in these beater NC games? I sure don't. Just hoping for another tailgate at this point, 'cuz why not. If we don't get another game, welp, guess we're suffering with 11, so be it.

I can't fathom the mass rage that will occur if we do gain a beater game and say a starter gets hurt bad or something mid-season. That's my only fear/concern with the situation.

Would beating Drake count as a win towards bowl eligibility? It wasn't till a few years ago that FCS wins didn't even count towards bowl eligibility.

They wouldn't try to schedule it if it wouldn't. Doesn't really matter considering the NCAA denied it

And for good reason. Should have never even been a remote possibility. You have to draw the line somewhere.

I would have been embarrassed if an Iowa AD even thought it was a good idea in the first place.

Obviously a line has to be drawn somewhere. No way should a Div. 1 P5 school ever be allowed to schedule a game against a non-scholarship school.

So it's OK to schedule an FCS team that offers scholarships even if they're equal to or worse than an FCS team that doesn't offer scholarships?

You are confusing calling Jamie out for being a dumbass, as being “up in arms”. It is funny because anyone who isn’t a ISU fan sees how completely stupid it was to do what Jamie did. Hawk fans are making fun of some of the crap Nebraska is saying as well. The thing there is it is dumb ass Nebraska media members. In ISU’s case it is an AD looking like a complete idiot trying to schedule Drake.
