Biggest disadvantage in the CyHawk Series since 1980

No, I dont see a reason for Iowa to schedule 11 P5 games.

I am not vouching for ISU to schedule Nebby or another P5 team. Just dont try and schedule a non-scholly program like Drake.
No, its just a question that's been brought up before, as I'm sure you're aware. If Notre Dame came up to ISU with the same offer, I'd probably want us to take it. That's a pretty special opportunity.

Just odd that Northwestern, Wisconsin, Purdue are all willing to do that then.

Wisconsin plays Southern Illinois and App State in the non con in 2020 and Eastern Michigan and Army in 2021 in addition to Notre Dame. They arent playing 11 P5 teams in either year.

Probably not. Keep defending JP at every turn though, its part of your schtick.

Well those are the only two FCS teams that only had 10 games scheduled and you're saying you would rather just play 11 games instead of 12 which I think it beyond idiotic. Game reps must be no big deal to your freshman and backups apparently

You may not be able to count to 13 but Wisconsin plays Notre Dame and Syracuse in 2021, so they are still playing 11 P5 opponents. And no response about NW and Purdue.

Man, Iowa fans have gotten quite uppity on their supposed superiority only on the basis of winning a few football games.

I guess I don't see the big deal. If Drake was for it to make $300k, and the NCAA would waive the scholarship requirement, I don't see what the problem would be. It's a pretty screwed up situation.

I'd still post something along the lines of "Drake's looking into alternatives to make this work as their Jazz Ensemble Club has dibs on the school bus that day", but would hope Iowa would do the same if an early season creampuff was the game that was canceled.

Sagarin ratings for the 3 teams we know of that have been contacted by ISU

Southern: 201 (OK'ed by Iowa fans)
Drake: 230 (Likely to end up with multiple fatalities if the game was played)
Presbyterian: 240 (OK'ed by Iowa fans)

You may be right about Wisconsin, from Google, it sounds like they tried to buy out/cancel Syracuse to get ND on the schedule and may have replaced them with EM. Weird situation?

LOL aren't wins and losses what counts?

For football, of course, no one is denying that. The supposed Iowa fan superiority on what is the basis of what's right and wrong for a rival football team to do is what's dumb. No Hawk fans would be here arguing against it if they had lost.

Yeah it's almost like we scheduled a team comparable to UNI in South Dakota State University and that fell through so we were left scrambling
I get that...but Drake? Non scholarship Drake? JP should have kept that idea in the “batshit crazy idea” bin.

Got ya. Misunderstood what you were saying. Yeah, I don't give a crap who Iowa State schedules and realize it's a difficult situation for an AD.
