Biggest disadvantage in the CyHawk Series since 1980

You don't think this game is different than the other 10 games ISU plays this year? Then you must think the same thing of Iowa. Me I'm not that dumb, I understand both teams emphasize this game, some kids call it the Super Bowl even.

I think this game is different than 9 other games this year because they don't care as much about non conference games and focus on Big 12 play

Or I could just trust the Iowa beat writer who's actually in the football facilities and talking with the current players when he says they emphasize the game instead of some former player I've never heard of
HAHHAHAHAHAHAHA You really think that an Iowa beat writer knows more about the day-to-day operations than a player who was in the building every day for the last 5 years knows? I know CMC thinks you're naive, but this might be beyond that. Get some rest!

I never said only stats matter for any position but OK

It seems you say lots of things on here that you understand aren't true at all. Heck some kids that play for ISU feel it is the Super Bowl.

Then why is he tweeting about it?

It's kind of like if, say, a bunch of Iowa fans came over to a rival's board, to argue with that rival's fans about really petty things, acting like it's not a rivalry, but also taking the time and energy to dig up and post things like tweets, players/coaches' quotes, etc. on that board to try to prove that it's not a big deal.

It's definitely a rivalry, and every game is a big deal. Which Iowa fans say differently?

I think the Iowa kids on the roster think more of it (where was that guard from again?) and probably the older players after dealing with hawks for a few years. But Campbell has emphasized conference titles and bigger things.

Besides, all you hawks think Campbell will leave soon. So if he was planning to skip town, it would make sense that he would care more about beating the OUs and getting into conference championship games more than beating another non conference game. So which is it? Campbell likes it here and wants to beat the hawks more than normal, or he wants to solely use us as a stepping stone and is more concerned about winning conference titles than beating another non con team. Can't have it both ways.

Do I think an Iowa beat writer who's in the facilities all the time knows more about this team than a former player who's an aspiring crossfit coach? Yes, absolutely I do

You trolls keep posting a photoshopped picture of a clock (which now the ISU clock would say beat TOE) who a reporter said a random person sent him over many of us who have been in the facilities a few times for one reason or another and have said the clock doesn't exist. So yo think a random person sending a photo to a rival beat writer better than the rest of us having been there saying it doesn't exist.

So please make up your mind.

I think Campbell addresses the game much as Iowa always has. It is an important rivalry, but conference overall is more important and conference titles are the goal.

I don't know if Campbell will leave or not. I do know the history of most young ambitious coaches and that is to coach on the highest stages in the biggest games. 99% of coaches leave a job for a better opportunity to accomplish this. Campbell left Toledo, because ISU gave him this opportunity. I'm sure he would look at other opportunities if they presented themselves to him, it is human nature. No knock on Campbell or ISU, but I am just going on what happens 99% of the time in this industry.

I've never said a word about that photo.

I will agree with this statement. Well said.

Hmmm...reading CMCs comments from his presser...he doesn’t seem to agree with you. You better educate him.

Thanks.

It is a early litmus test vs a good opponent for both teams. I could see the winner being ranked next week, as I feel the media views both as good programs right now. Both teams will be better coming out of this game than they were going into it.

I don't know about ranked but high in receiving votes. Not sure how many above have tough games. Before the first game, I was more comfortable. Not getting reps in puts me in the Iowa has an advantage now. I personally believe that the first game lets you know if someone is not ready or if there are glaring issues that were covered in practice due to familiarity. Not making an excuse, you have to play the hand you are dealt; but I really wish we could have at least gotten a good half in and I would have felt way better. Or way worse if we would have stunk up the joint.
