Biggest disadvantage in the CyHawk Series since 1980

It would also give me a little comfort, if I were an ISU fan, that Rose is right behind Lima who should take up some attention from the Iowa OL.

If I was BF, I would try and attack with Hockensen right up the seam for the very reason you pointed out above.
I’d imagine that they’ll have an extra safety on the field for the TE pass game, but obviously that depends on how ISU is defending the run game.

I personally don't care, but I find it funny that CyTwins has been all over Ferentz for not suspending Jackson for the ISU game, but supports the ISU stance on no suspensions for their players just so they can play Iowa.

NIU averaged 2.8 yards per carry against Iowa. Plus, we are getting half of our DT’s back that we’re missing from the 2 deeps last week because of suspension.
Only because of sacks. They would gain 7 or 8 yards most times they ran. Why they ever tried to throw is beyond me.

This isn't the right thread for this conversation

It really is going to be interesting to watch it unfold. If Iowa loads up on 3 TE’s it will force ISU to try and stop the run with an extra DB or depend on their LB’s to cover.

The one positive for ISU is Iowa's TE's aren't great run blockers if they go that route

They do 3 right ends a bunch. Fant is the only TE who is something of a question blocking. Hockenson and Wieting are both above average with Wieting being very good.

Iowa will put stress on the ISU defense with a 2-2-1, two wide receivers, two tight ends, and one back. So many different plays from this one look.

It sounds like Hockenson really struggled blocking week 1

It's one week. No one knows what will happen as we go along. Last year everyone was predicting a 20-17, 21-17 type game and we got 44-41 and neither team could stop the other. So this year will likely be 17-14. But seriously, I think each offense is set up to do well against the defense of the opponent. Iowa would probably welcome seeing Iowa State in the 3-3-5 alignment and just try running the ball against that. And Kempt is an accurate, good decision maker with good receivers to throw to. Plus the Cyclones have a very good RB that demands attention. So there are completions to be had for the Cyclones. If neither team turns it over, I would think both offenses have the chance to have another good day.

A Twitter Search of TE38 and Hockenson isn't very positive for the young man

I think ISU's defense is quite a bit better than Iowa's offense

Looking like a wet game with the hurricane remnants coming this way for weekend.

CMC had the first game at Toledo postponed due to weather one year, the next game they beat a ranked Arkansas team that had a game under their belt. It's been a weird week already, I think it will be a weird game where the unexpected happens, and I'm feeling like the most unexpected thing would be for us to rout them at home. This will be the game that makes Iowa fans sign a petition to get Urban Meyer fired, they will hand deliver it by next weekend.

That was a Bert lead Arkansas team and they could not do much if anything right.
