ISU May turn out to be better and I think it’s reasonable for a Clone fan to say their team is better now, but I don’t know how you can say clearly better. OL for instance, you can’t see how those players will gel. And the Iowa DL is better than the ISU dL, especially if you consider depth.

Benton, Johnson, Lensing all saw snaps in 17. Can expect those 3 along Tongamoa and Leo to see significant snaps in 18.

Does experience = more quality depth?

I’d argue that ISU’s back ups (Leo, Tongamoa, etc)will bring more quality than Reiff/Brincks.

Brincks may have supplanted Lattimore as the other starter at DT, even after Lattimore returns from suspension. And Reiff has reportedly had one of the best camps of any player on Iowa’s roster. Iowa is a legitimate 8 deep along the DL.

And it doesn’t get any more “quality depth” than a 5*, future first round draft pick.

I mean, ISU ran 3 man front for the majority of the season. It will be interesting to see if that sticks or not.

I am not going to say that the ISU defensive line is better, but I think the depth will be right on par.

Don’t know if he would be 4th DE at Iowa or not. I like the 4 DE’s Iowa does have. How confident are you in this curb stomping you talk about and what is a curb stomping in your mind? Is a curb stomping 42-3 or 23-21 on a last second FG?
