All Iowa Football Team---Post Bowl Edition

But states like Nebraska, Ohio and Wisconsin do. Colorado has won a national championship in our lifetime too.
And if you asked the citizens that care about athletics they would love to have CSU, and Cincinnati as Power schools. Wisconsin and Nebraska both have private schools in a conference that I have always considered to be a premier basketball league.
To have as many schools, in the best leagues, with as much visibility as possible is always for the best.

Hate to do it, but link. There is no way you know this.

Link? They lobbied the B12 to be added.

This is a difference of opinion and I don’t get 1% of why you think that. Now, when taxpayers were on the hook, I could understand why you would think that, even though I’d still disagree.
Universities enrollment, research, funding, etc can boom if your teams win.

Agree to disagree on your thoughts.

So the fans and alumni of those schools were for it, of course they would. You original post said citizens would be all for it. I bet you Colorado alumni and fans and OSU alumni and fans wouldn't be for it.

Having one P5 school in any state is a benefit for that team.

Can you imagine the arguments on here about colors, mascot, coaches etc if the schools were combined?

Never said to combine it. Just saying if there was never two P5 schools no one would have ever known the difference and almost everyone in the state would have grown up a fan of said school instead of having to split the fanbase and thus resources.

It was my idea to combine the two. Why do we have to go to Ames? The majority of fans would be in eastern Iowa. Maybe Des Moines. You’d have to expand your stadium again anyway.

As far as coaches go, both Iowa and ISU are union institutions and Ferentz has seniority.

Absolutely, completely disagree.

School and Stadium would be in Ames for sure. Black and gold would be the colors with the OK from CMC
Nope. Mega 100K stadium in downtown Des Moines.....don't know what gets demolished to build it and don't care. Needs to be done.
