Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

Benji has jokes. No way we watched the same video.

I counted four crossovers for a lay-up/dunk, 2 in-and-outs for a lay-up/dunk, 2 between the legs crossovers for a lay-up/dunk, and 1 behind the back for a lay-up/dunk.

For his position, he is a pretty good ball-handler. His turnovers typically come from trying to force things and making bad decisions because he is the only player on the team capable of creating offense.

9 times over the course of a thirty game season. Maybe they couldn't fit them all in the video. Sweet moves though.

Now I understand why Iowa State fans boo so much during basketball games, y’all clearly don’t know much about the sport.

As an expert in Men's College Hoops, even you have to be appreciative and thankful for the history being made in Hilton recently -

Not many times you have a college team generating multiple NBA players/year

Niang
Nader
Morris
Mitrou-Long
Burton

Likely another 3-4 to add to that list in the next couple of years.

Good thing hoks get to see this level of talent come through CHA every other year.

And Kevin Durant is listed at 6’9”, that doesn’t make it so. Bagley will play just as much center (probably more) as he will at PF, and is better than Cook at pretty much everything.
And Kevin Durant doesn’t play back to the rim like you said Cook does. Great comparison.

Please tell me you aren’t serious. I’m not comparing Cook to Durant, genius. I am making the point that just because a player lists himself as something (i.e. Durant as 6’9”, Bagley as a PF, or even Anthony Davis as a PF), that doesn’t mean that it is true.

Kinda proving the thread title is correct then aren’t you? LOL

Not really. Wieskamp is clearly a P5 level player. Garza and Bohannon are P5 level players, but due to their physical limitations would be better suited in supporting roles or coming off the bench. Other than that, yes, the talent on Iowa’s roster is lacking. I don’t think I have ever denied that.

Yes, Iowa State has certainly had more G League and marginal NBA talent than Iowa over the last 5-10 years. I guess that means that Iowa State basketball fans are the smartest around! That must be why they boo every time a whistle blows.

You have called Garza elite offensively, and now you are saying he shouldn’t start?

Yeah, he’s a fantastic offensive player and rebounder, and is terrible defensively and in poor shape. He should be a role player or bench player on a really good team.

Hmm, I see your point. Having to get by with those pathetic, multi-year $5 million contracts is pretty pedestrian.

Your brilliance is really starting to shine through!

I do have to agree with you on fan 'smarts' though, hoks are some some of the smartest. At least they are smart enough to not show up for the putrid product on display at CHA. Hard to boo when you aint there.
