My point is that Iowa fans are quite happy calling 7 wins a season a success, given that Kirk has been there for 19 years. How comfortable are you that Brian will be able to clear that high bar?

While that has been KF's average, he has also won double digit games a number of times, won the conference twice, won a division championship, finished inside the top 10 four times and won a BCS bowl. Would you say KF has been a successful head coach at Iowa thus far?

I mean ISU was the best team in the state last year and you think KF is great so something has to give

Nope, no they werent.

The comparison of CMC and KF shouldnt even start until CMC can beat him on the trail and on the field.

KF has 5 AP Top 10 finishes and 3 Sagarin Top 10 finishes.

Do you think CMC is a great developer and not a great recruiter? I mean ISU was the best team in the state last year and you think KF is great so something has to give

How was iSu the best team in the state? There are a ton of polls that said otherwise and the actual in season meeting as well.

KF is 82-44 the last 10 years with a National coach of the year award and 2 New Years 6 Bowl appearances.
If No one else wants that so be it.

How giddy would iSu fans be with that level of success?

What is he this decade? Not the last decade

Just winning a game doesn’t start the comparison.

CMC needs to have several top ten seasons, several New Years 6 appearances and 2 years of National coach of the year awards.

Matt Campbell has only had 1 year of head coaching that he has had under 7 wins, so that is why we are giddy about where CMC can potentially take us. But you rip us when we get excited about him.

National AP voters disagree but how was CMC able to win 8 games in year 2 if he can't develop or recruit talent?

I would put him solidly in the second tier of BIG coaches at this point in time behind OSU, PSU, Whiskey, Michigan State, and Michigan. He coaches in the BIG West, where he actually should be winning 9-10 games during the regular season given that they don't play all the teams in the East. Is he a success over ISU during the same 19 year time frame...obviously. Is he a success at a level beyond Iowa...nope.

So KF hasn't been successful at Iowa is what you are saying?

That is the last 10 seasons. 82-48 with 2 New Years Six Bowl appearances and a National Coach of the year award.

I'm talking this decade, the 2010's. I won't argue KF was a good coach in the 2000s before the game passed him by
