Exactly! It's "just football". But if the roles were reversed it'd be all our "thugs" faults.
I'm not trolling but wasn't the CB opposite of Jackson a problem all of last season?
I would say that's a fair assessment. Although Hankins didn't see much time until later in the year.
I think they have the ability to be good, possibly great, CBs. It may take them 1 game or 1 year to put it all together. Nobody saw Jackson's season coming last year.
To be fair none of you guys saw Ragumba's season coming last year either
Agreed. He didn't turn the corner last year for whatever reason.
Phil Parker has churned out some damn good DBs in his day, so I'm willing to give him the benefit of a doubt at this point
Except Parker only had one CB last year when he needed a second to be at least decent

Easily among the best in college football. And with the young guys we've brought in, our D backfield is going to be stacked.
Not trolling at all but has Parker ever won any awards of any kind? You guys throw that he's one of the best in college football and I didn't know if that was just an Iowa fan thing or his peers/media think the same thing
The results speak for themselves.
What do you mean? Iowa wouldn't even be in the top 10 in college football in any results. They have one Thorpe Winner in King and that's it
And one other finalist for the Thorpe. Sanders, King and Jackson have all been first team AA. He has had 13 DB’s drafted in his time at Iowa. I would guess 6-8 first team All-B1G guys as well back there.
I think he gets propped up because Iowa rarely signs a DB that is ranked higher than a 3*. The guys that have thrived under him (King, Jackson, Sanders, etc.) weren’t highly sought after.

Three of the last 7 B1G Defensive Back of the Year awards (all 2* or low 3* recruits)
Perennially Top 25 in passing efficiency defense
A bunch of NFL draft picks that go on to be very successful
I think you’d be hard pressed to find a school that can match Phil’s accomplishments in the secondary that isn’t Alabama, Ohio State, LSU, etc.
So he gets credit for not recruiting higher profiled guys? I mean just last class he had Chevin Calloway and Calloway and his family came out and said they couldn't even get a hold of Parker when they wanted to after he committed. Lol one of the bests
Are you that dumb to think that only Parker recruits DB’s? Iowa’s staff, like pretty much every other staff, recruits by territory.
So then how is Parker one of the best? I'm not trying to be a d*** I'm just wondering where this thing comes from. If I was an Iowa fan I'd be pissed at Parker after how he recruited Calloway
