Iowa Football Recruiting

We understand your weekend sucked. No need to trot out these lame ass attempts all day.

D+

The truth is now lame? Iowa has recruited better than ISU for how many straight years and CMC in year two just put the most talented team in the state on the field every week last year. He's proven he's better at developing and evaluating talent

ISU was the better team last year, that is a fact not an opinion unless you are dumb enough to think AP votes don't count

You said ISU had the better team every week last season which is wrong. Iowa won in non-historic JTS.

Also, you think the ISU team that trotted out to lose at WVU was better than the Iowa team that trounced OSU on the first weekend of November?

B-A-D effort.

Sorry, ISU was the better team overall last season while Iowa has always recruited better than ISU. I actually think KF is pretty good at evaluating and developing talent (not near as good as he used to be) but CMC is elite at it

How is that being a homer?

ISU was better than Iowa last year - FACT not an opinion
Iowa recruits better than ISU in terms of recruiting rankings - FACT not an opinion

To get this back on topic, let's talk about some incoming players that I'm hearing really good things about that are either in state players or players that Nick Saban/Jimbo Fisher wanted

Trevor Downing: Heard he's better than they could have expected. No wonder Iowa rolled out the red carpet for him

Colin Newell: Projected starter. No wonder Iowa offered him

Brock Purdy: They knew he would be good but even better than they could have imagined. This is one Saban and Jimbo will lose sleep over.

Zach Peterson: Future pro. No wonder ISU took him over Waggoner

Utter nonsense. One of the more annoying things about the Iowa fanbase is the arrogance to think that any mention of the Hawkeyes constitutes obsession. Do you even know what that word means?

The Gopher fanbase views the Hawkeyes with disdain and contempt - nothing more. The "Who Hates Iowa?" chant is used because the accent on the first syllable makes it flow well.

There is only one team that Minnesota fans think about, and that's Wisconsin. That's because of the fierce Viking-Packer rivalry and because the Badgers and Gophers are bitter rivals in hockey. The football scales, though, have been decidedly one-sides for many years.

So get over yourself. The two minutes I spent typing this is longer than any other Gopher fan has thought about Iowa in a long time.

I grew up on the border. Do a lot of biz in MN. Have many relatives there. Theyhonestly have no interest in Iowa. They don’t care. If the hawks are brought up they just say they are an awful fan base. And hate dealing with them.

Newell being projected as starter is crazy good for the future of the line. I know he was scout team player of year last year.

So
Sorry to keep straying from the topic, fellow Cyclone fans, but one last thing. I agree with YeahBuddy about it being pro sports town. There's absolutely no question about it. It's not a coincidence that the Gophers' last football national championship was in 1960, and then the Twins and Vikings showed up in 1961.
