He went on a rant on the radio saying they don't recruit the same way ISU does but they are doing exactly that in this instance
That's exactly what he said IIRC. Something along the lines of "an offer from Iowa means something" blah blah blah
I don't have any problem with their recruiting policy. However, I do intend to point out the hypocrisy of BF calling out Iowa State when they are, in essence, doing the exact same thing. BF sure suggested an offer is an offer, and if we offer you a scholarship you can be on the team if you so chose. But now I hear an offer is an offer, unless there is another commitment at your position, in which case it is not an offer any longer. Following Brian's statements, you'd sure think they'd wait to know where they stand with the player they want more before even offering the next in line.
Making multiple offers and taking the first who signs is literally what Iowa State does that he was criticizing. You can try to find some little nuance that justifies it, but it's the same thing. For the record, I don't have any issue with this practice. I have an issue with very public hypocrisy.
“I can tell you this much, if the University of Iowa offers you a scholarship and you commit to us, we intend to sign you and we intend to take your commitment."

Well that quote is a flat out lie but he took some shots at ISU and Minnesota in his rant for doing the same thing they are doing now IIRC
I thought part of what he said had to do with the amount of offers going out, but maybe that was the texas coach I am thinking about.
