I've read so many different takes from Iowa fans on here with how much or how little they can afford when it comes to 7 home games, firing Fran, etc.

The kid was originally coming to Iowa as a walk on so he was possibly red shirting like many of them do. Waste 5 scholarship years on him? Seems like they just got rid of a player in a similar situation.
