2018 Maui Tournament

ISU fans..always one-upping themselves

And that doesn't even include the half dozen groups I know that made our own purchases because we are too far down on the food chain to be guaranteed of getting them through ISU. I'm sure there are many others out there like us!

It’s more about people wanting to get the heck out of Iowa then about the team

Are you going?
I am not. Was all planned to go and even thinking about doing something even more special for my girlfriend while down there for the week. But of course, my cousin had to be selfish and get married in California the weekend before the tourney. It's safe to say I let out a few expletives.

Well, ****!
PapaLew promised me nearly 10 years ago that if they ever went to the Maui invitational again, we'd go. He made good on that promise. After the tourney, we're going to go over to Oahu and spend five days there as well. Cannot wait!!!

Awesome, have you ever been? Maui was my favorite of the two islands but Oahu is great for a lot of different reasons. Will you be staying in Waikiki?

Hopefully the overwhelming response of the fan base (and the continued success of the team) will get Iowa State in the Maui field again sometime soon. We love Maui and love the Cyclones. Was planning on going to the the tournament but my wife is due in November so timing won't work out this time.

First time for both of us. We haven't booked yet in Oahu...but probably. We added a shuttle pass from the hotel to the game venue for Maui, but we're still trying to decide whether or not to rent a car on Oahu. Depends on whether we get free on-site parking. We had a battle in NOLA when our hotel out-sourced the parking...30-40 minute wait every time you wanted to get your car.

I will say, the one thing I loved doing in Oahu was making the drive from the Southern tip to the North Shore. We were there in calm season, so North Shore was essentially as flat as Lake Michigan (and ironically the southern beaches (Waimanalo Beach
) was as wavy as I've ever seen), but the scenery of the island was beautiful, like everywhere else in Hawaii.

Gotta do Pearl Harbor if you're into that type of experience, and even if you aren't I think it is definitely worth the visit.

Only problem with Maui Invite is the ****** gym that they play in.

I would assume ISU would be getting a Battle 4 Atlantis invite on of these years and I can't recommend going to that one enough. I've done both and Battle 4 Atlantis >>>>>>>>>>>Maui.
