Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

Agreed.

Fran definitely played the local kid over the better option.

Take it easy on Fran about playing Trex. When you have a decent contract and are pulling 1200 fans to games, playing the kid that bumps it to 1250 is probably justified. How do you recruit with so few fans in the stands.

Well there is quite a swath of bad to mediocre B1G ball in that area. Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, MN, NW. Wisconsin could be trending down too. Seriously, could Nebraska be the best team out of those? Yikes.

So the thought of being able to win in a P5 is a pretty easy sell but unfortunately the Iowa coaches aren't good.

To be fair, it did snow a couple times that season in IC.

Do you think Fran would be the worst coach in the Big 12?

What was the worst team, with their first year coach, didn't have one of their best players went into the dungeon and beat Iowa in the NIT.

That was the game that made me realize both programs were on the rise.

Yeah, those 5 minutes a game of half the season to judge that on sure are useful.

Thats true, we should look at his per 40 minutes numbers or per 100 possessions numbers.

Those all show a big jump from freshman Gabe to senior Gabe.
