No, its your obsession with Iowa.
Wrong. Is Kirk on the hot seat? 3 top 10 finishes in the 2000's and hasn't sniffed one since. That's a bad trend

Lol, "flaccid stretched length". That's a unique data point.

Iowa approached ISU about not playing for 1 year under the current contract so the Hawks could go to Soldier Field and play a neutral site game against Notre Dame.
JP declined, probably related to the fact that it is one of ISU's 2 Super Bowls, and now Wisky and Notre Dame are working on setting up a game in Chicago.
Are there not other OOC games Barta could've cancelled?Really good post on this on HR. Slight correction to my post above, Barta was asking for a 2 year break from the game:
"I have posted this before and the article mentions it was a "rumor." Not true on the it only being a rumor. Iowa and ND wanted a 2 game series in Chicago for a ton of reasons including proximity and amount of alumni in the Midwest. The proposal was night games one year with Iowa the home team and broadcast on ABC and one year ND the home team carried by NBC. But due to the new Big 10 schedule with 9 games Iowa needs at least 2 of 3 OOC home games. Barta went to Pollard and asked for a 2 year hiatus to which Pollard said no and he would sue to ,keep the game under a specific performance theory as well as seek an injunction to prevent the Iowa-ND game due to claimed "irreparable harm" to ISU. So Barta backed out as he didn't want the political fall out of Iowa-ISU litigation as will as Barta was getting enough bad publicity. Those are all facts according to the Iowa foundation and a lawyer buddy who's father is a ND Trustee. So ND then went to Wisconsin for the game. But make no mistake both Iowa and ND wanted the game. Period. Thanks Pollard."

ToE/ISU games are moneymakers. ToE would be easily replacing theirs with another moneymaker. ISU would be losing a moneymaker with a short window to replace it. ISU gets literally nothing out of giving up those games, thus it would be really stupid to let them go on our end.
Why would KF be on the hot seat?
He had 3 top 10 finishes in the 2000s and hasn't sniffed one since then. That's a pretty alarming trend
Can't handle that level of competition, or what? Why would Barta/KF want to play 11 P5 opponents in one season?

Yeah, maybe if you are Alabama or Florida State.
Can't handle that level of competition, or what?
It makes zero business sense whatsoever for Pollard to willingly cancel high-dollar games on short notice that won't be easily replaced. Be mad all you want, but that's a f***ing stupid idea.

In either scenario, it's a dumb financial decision for the team being asked to let it go (assuming the asking team found a suitable replacement ahead of time, which is pretty reasonable to believe) to actually let it go. Makes no money sense whatsoever.Pollard asked to take a break to get a neutral field or home and home with someone better than a Big Ten West team and Barta threatened to sue. Can't say I blame Barta either and he'll be eager as can be to try to get the series renewed when the next contract extension is up
And Barta could've cancelled a different OOC game if it was that important to him... Must not have been. Finding a game on short notice that will make more money than an instate rival is nearly impossible to do.He could have found another home game. JP thinks its a good business decision to play 6 home games every other year in exchange for playing at MAC schools so not sure why he was so against this.

ISU hasnt had a non con P5 opponent not named Iowa visit JTS since the late 80's it looks like so lets not act like any game JP would have scheduled would draw like the Iowa game.
