Wigginton declaring for NBA Draft, not hiring agent

Quote from RP's article the other day: "One scout said there’s a chance the 20-year-old could be picked late in the second round — emphasis on could be."

Seems as though going from projected undrafted to 1st round promise is the sizable leap it'd take for Lindell to not be back... Which makes sense. Good news to hear him say it though. Bottom link shows he's currently No. 95 on NBA draft net. There are 40+ guards ahead of him right now.

Considering Prohm's earlier comments I believe Lindell's plan was always to come back unless he received a promise as a first rounder. Nothing has changed since he declared that has changed my opinion.
I curious to see if he gets the NBA combine invite. I think I saw there are roughly 60 invites send with a wild card that the top picks often decline opening another 5-10 positions. I fully think LW is worthy of being there but every day I see another player declare and could bump him down the order. If he gets an invite it could give a hint on his stock for next year.

We’ll have a pretty good team,” Wigginton said. “It’s most definitely a tournament team and potentially even farther in the tournament. We’ve got a good group. We’re kind of gelling right now too. We’ve got good chemistry right now in the weight room, on the floor. It feels good right now.

So who was holding them back, Beverly or Brase? Long?

Injuries, experience, depth

And experience playing together.

Sometimes players click out of the gates (think Kane/Ejim or Tinsley/Fizer) but those were also players with lots of playing experience in general.

At times last year Wiggs/Lard had what looked like a two man game going that was fun.

I would think LW would want to have a little more of a legacy at ISU than one bad season.

The modus operandi of the team last year was inconsistency.

This goes for their chemistry, too.

There were times they looked like brothers out there, particularly in games like the West Virginia game where they banded together to play their best game of the season after Nick, their point guard and leader, went down with the knee.

There were other times I was not convinced they liked each other much.

The players, pieces, scheme, and chemistry for a good basketball team were there last year, but they never really all came together at once or for a sustained stretch. The bad start, losing the close games to open the Big 12, the difficulty of the conference, and the injuries just kind of did them in towards the end. They looked exhausted at the end of the season. The chemistry was good at the end of the year, though. The team seemed to bond in grieving for Donovan. I hope that carries over into next season with the next guys.

All four of the incomers seem to have great, team- and family-oriented attitudes. I figure they will mesh well or create their own good environment.

I would also like to think that but if it comes down to it, money talks.

We could know soon if Lindell is playing in Hilton next year or if we have another month of waiting on the decision.

Lindell Wigginton will learn Friday if he’s been selected to participate in the NBA's Draft Combine next month in Chicago.

Iowa State's freshman phenom is hoping to be among 70 or so invited to what essentially is a tryout camp attended by scouts, coaches and executives of each NBA team. It'll be held May 16-20 at the Quest Multisport Complex

I am guessing he will be invited.
