Had an area rug from Red that the seams went bad in six months. Would not do anythingI've bought plenty from Redekers and their stuff is a little better quality than Homemakers in my view and have never had any luck of them taking anything off.
I've never used those words, terrible advice, I expected better. What are those words you like to use? False equivalence? Yep, definitely false equivalence.

Because I’ve never bought at Redekers and will more than likely buy our bed set from there as well. Simply wanted to know if haggling was common there or if they’re pretty set on their prices. I didn’t look at the Amish site until after my original post. Also I’m not the one who brought up cash for cars or college funds. I’m sorry to whoever I offended for being fiscally responsible and willing to buy nice furniture.
Kids will ruin everything you own. Seriously. Don't spend that much cash on something that will get destroyed. As a side, we bought our crib from Babies Are Us for ~$125 and our 3rd child is about to start using it. This thing has been beat up, disassembled/reassembled more times than I care to count, jump on and generally beat up for 4 years.

so what if someone were looking for cheap, high-quality cribs? Anyone got a hookup for that?![]()
Nah I like to include details and I’m not going to make my post more vague just to cater to the insecure people on this board. I’ll just have to stick with bogglehead for financial post.
Your original post didn't include much detail at all. Dresser and crib for $2500 was it. If you wanted to know if Redekers will negotiate, that info was irrelevant. If you wanted to know if that was a decent price for what you were looking at, there isn't enough info to answer. Thus the post reeks of humble brag.
Don’t be a douche. Just because we recommend you don’t, doesn’t mean we can’t. Most of the people you're shitting on were giving you honest advice from experience.
We need color, architectural styling, dimensions, what kind of mood does it evoke in someone who sees it for the first time? Without all of this information how could anyone possibly answer a simple question like "will Redeker's negotiate on the price?" and therefore our only option will be to tell you that you should never buy kid's furniture that costs over $8.What other details do you want to know? Don’t really know any other details outside of it being oak.
I don’t know that I’d call buying $2500 baby furniture fiscally responsible but to each his own.
