Hayward Field will be badass.

I wish Heyward Bats would be badass.....oops, I thought this a thread about the Chicago Cubs defense and offense.

I've never heard of a track and field stadium referred to as bad ass. In fact, the only time I recall a track being brought up on here was in reference to Kansas's embarrassment of a football stadium.

But, I guess maybe it's just not my thing.

I’m trying to figure out how you would go from 13,900 to 30,000 in temporary seating with that layout.

The lower level in the second drawing standing room only maybe?? Not enough views to really guess what they are going to do.

That is pretty awesome. I'm a fringe track and field fan at best, but as a former track athlete in high school and someone who still runs quite a bit, I can definitely appreciate this. I remember how cool it felt to run at Drake Stadium, this is on a completely different level.

I currently hate it and had hoped that the renovation would pay homage to the old grandstands and keep that look.

That said, this is probably good for the sport and one day, I will be over this and accepting of it

Here is the historic east grandstand:

Here it is being moved. Looking at the construction I see why they decided keeping it was not in the cards considering it is outdoor wood construction from 1919.
