Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

Yes, Iowa fans tweeting trash talk to Iowa State players online are losers (except for the rare occasion that an Iowa State player brings it on himself by starting the trash talk, a la Lazard during the Rose Bowl. Then a little trash talk is acceptable, as long as it is not personal attacks.)

If that's the case then Jorbo deserves it when he talks stupidity

So the rules are if your feelings get hurt it's ok to tweet at opposing players?

Cordell, do you have any idea what an honor it is to be a Hawkeye? 98% of the best high school basketball players in Iowa would kill to get a scholarship to Iowa. I can't remember the last time an Iowa kid transferred out of the program. Maybe Cougs from Sioux City, who I think flunked out. You are finally healthy, and I hope you work on your outside shooting and defense, and stay with the program. I hope you honor your scholarship. I hope you don't become a "Whatever happened to..." statistic. Yes, you might get some additional playing time at a lesser school (and a lesser scholarship), but I can guarantee that most of us fans will eventually forget about you if you leave. Stay, and maybe you'll move farther up the lineup at Iowa and maybe even start, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with coming off the bench. I expect big things from the Hawkeyes next year. I hope you are part of this. Work hard, work on your deficiencies, and come back. I think next season will be special for the Hawkeyes.

Why do Hawkeye fans keep saying "special"? If Cordell transferred to UNI he would basically be going to an equal program in his lifetime in terms of NCAA tournament appearances/wins.

It's an honor to play for a program that hasn't made it to the second weekend in 20 years and a coach with 2 tourney appearances in 8 years lol

If he needed another reason to leave besides Mad Fran, here’s exhibit A, the delusional fan base.

Why do Fran’s players seem to digress from year to year? Is it lack of solid minutes when he plays 12 guys? And who would want to compete for minutes with two of his spawn and their buddy Joe?

Kid has quite an offer list.
If I’m in his spot and live in B1G country and want to play for a B1G school, Michigan State 5 to 10 years ago would be my choice. Now, I’d be concerned how long Izzo will be there.
I really like the hires at Indiana and Ohio State.

Fran has a great recruiting tool on the road now. That’s new contract is huge. He can prove he isn’t going anywhere just be totally honest with the kid. One, they aren’t firing me, and two, who would actually hire me with my body of work. I’m firmly entrenched he can tell the recruits.
