Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

I don’t think getting into the tourney is that big of a crap shoot. 7/10 teams in a conference make it? Just don’t have a complete rebuild like we did this year and it will be fine. Iowa lost, what, one player from last year? They weren’t a tourney team last year and went backwards with experience this year.

Once you are in the tourney its a crap shoot.

Change it to football and you have Hassel troll tweeting Lazard.:rolleyes:

Or WHO running a 10 minutes story obviously pressuring him to go to flip to Notre Dame...when Iowa's 5* recruit actually did flip to Alabama last minute with zero Iowa media coverage before during or after.

Forget fans, the local media personalities themselves actively hound ISU players to dump ISU.

If things were comparable we'd be having 10 minute interviews on WHO tv with Tyler Cook asking why he stays with a horrible program that was 0-13 against postseason teams when he could transfer or try the draft. Don't hold your breath.

Is this actually a thing with most ISU fans or just some ISU fans that post on this board?

You guys actually think there is this huge media bias against ISU in the metro area?

How often are there 10 minute interviews on the highest rated local news in the state pressuring an Iowa recruit to decommit and go somewhere else? It happened to an 18 year old ISU commit the same week an Iowa player actually did decommit last minute and went to Alabama with zero media coverage.

You're so obsessed with fans tweeting at players. ISU players have been harassed by local media televised state wide when they are still high school age.

I would actually like this interview. Do you have a link to it by chance?

And Pierschbacher flipped to Bama in August of 2013 which was almost 6 months prior to Signing Day. He didnt flip last minute. It seems like you may be getting slightly carried away with this.

First off, that part of the fanbase and Bowlsby are morons and idiots for pushing out Davis.

I was expecting Fran to have Iowa back in tourney by year 3, he did it in year 4. Last year was completely unacceptable and I will be ready for him to be gone if Iowa misses the tourney this coming season.

Again, it really is a crap shoot in the tourney. Get there 3 out of 4 years and I will be happy and take our chances.
What type of seeds do you think would be considered a success over a long period? I think at ISU right now I would be happy with over the course of a 5 year run missing the tourney once, getting a top 4 seed once, a 5-8 once and an 8+ once, or something along those lines. As you say it is something of a crapshoot, but getting a 6 seed or better helps the odds a great deal.
Fran's probably judged harshly because he had I think a 9 and a 10 seed and had a couple minor collapses and one massive one down the stretch.

Fran has had two 7 seeds and an 11 seed in the First Four while at Iowa.

If Iowa makes the tourney 3 out of 4 years I would want to avoid double digit sees every year.

I'll give you a million dollars if you can show me a TV interview asking Pierschbacher 5 separate times if he's going to stay with Iowa. I can show you the same for AL at ISU from WHO and you know it.

Flagging this as violation of your trolling statement. Sentencing you to live in your own delusional Fran worshiping skin.

Agreed...finding logical, objective Clone fans can be a challenge on this board but there are a few.

@TheJackWePack5
@Cydkar
@rholtgraves

Those are a few that post in ISR and you can have a decent conversation with.
You realize all I ever do here is call you out on your BS. Seriously, I don't think you believe you are trolling when you do troll. You actually believe your own BS and can't see your own hypocrisy.

Yes there is, and deservedly so. What the last poll show, something like a 2:1 hawk to clone fan ratio in the metro?

Yes, Iowa fans tweeting trash talk to Iowa State players online are losers (except for the rare occasion that an Iowa State player brings it on himself by starting the trash talk, a la Lazard during the Rose Bowl. Then a little trash talk is acceptable, as long as it is not personal attacks.)

I definitely think there is a bias but I don't necessarily think that it 's intentional. For starters, outside of central and eastern Iowa media, who actually thought Iowa was going to have a good team this last year? They weren't on anyone's radar nationally but we were told here in central Iowa that the Hawks were going to be in the top 3-5 in the B1G and dancing in the tournament. If you were looking at the Iowa b-ball teams with unbiased eyes it is pretty easy to see the flaws...

This sounds crazy but you might have been better under your last username which is really saying something

Is this Twilight/Ovosound, Masher, Clairvoyant Dan, a section, or what?

And can someone clarify if rholtgraves is a KU fan, Hawk fan, both, or just an anti-Cyclone fan?

Busily updating ignore list.
