Graham Couch: Iowa Basketball is a mid-major roster

People miss on predictions, that shouldn’t be a shock.

My opinion that talent evaluators for Rivals, 247, etc. will get an evaluation right a lot more often than some middle aged guy in Carroll or Ankeny that claims to have watched Patrick in the state tourney and has Hawkeye buddies that think he is ranked too high.

Iowa played in a very poor Big 10 this year and they still couldn't compete. The league will no doubt be better next year, unless their schedules breaks the Nebraska's did this year (gosh I hate 14 team leagues and their unbalanced schedules), how does Iowa improve very much without a point guard?

I'm middle aged now too?

So you agree with talent evaluators that once 5 star Connor McCaffrey ended up not even being a top 150 recruit?

Not sure how discussing Patricks recruiting rank turned into this.

I’m not so sure about this.

I guess I don't understand why Iowa fans are so high on the entitled one considering he wasn't even a top 150 recruit

I don't know a lot of Iowa fans that are really high on him, most think he will be an average to slightly above average B1G player.

So what you are saying is you would understand if they were high on him if he was ranked 2 spots higher?

Maybe it's just the media that's high on him. I guess I don't know why you think Patrick will stay where he is at in the rankings when his brother who at least has a Big Ten frame couldn't stay in the top 150

Can you explain why?

Let me guess, it's because you watched him once too at the state tourney.

It doesn’t take me hours of game tape to verify a slow plodding guard who’s biggest asset is all of the cliche “coaches son” intangibles. What does he do really well?

I get that worthless newspaper, much to my chagrin.

What'd they say, I have no idea.

Have you seen him play? Or are you going by what read? Maybe you better go back to Saragin or KenPom to have them help you out.

I haven't seen him play but by the video I have seen of him. The kid needs to redshirt, put on about 30 lbs otherwise he will get eaten alive in league play. Fran has never been to big on physical players except those with eye gouging tactics always the finesse players.

He pulled that guy out of WWE villain training school.

Here is the deal. I could tell alot by the kid when he was on the same floor with a kid who was eating his lunch and he didn't respond by getting aggressive and trying to carry his team aka leading it. He screamed at his teammates a few times which shouldn't come as a shock considering his old man tends to freak out and clutch up when the going gets tough.
