KF likes to put the 5 best OL on the field. So yeah there's a chance one of those young 4* guys would be at C.
As much as Iowa fans would love that I don't see CMC leaving unless it's for a big time Big Ten job like Wisconsin, Mich State, Michigan or Ohio State
6'6 centers are pretty rare I'd think.
Regardless, Newell is stuck behind a good C right now.
We have a lot of 4* guys up front, if they're among the 5 best they're on the field. Newell wouldn't crack that top 5 probably ever. Smart move to head to Ames. He could turn out to be a good one.
Unless my math is off (i'm no mathematician), I count 2.

Two on this year's roster, two more on next year's roster. So I'd say four 4* OL would be a lot. Maybe not for Ohio St. or Bama, but for most programs. Plus Jackson wasn't a 4* but he was named 1st team Freshman All-American, so obviously the ratings services were wrong on him.
Yeah I'll trust KF when it comes to the OL. There's a reason Iowa is known as O-Line U. Good-Jones seems pretty solid though.
Why is there an argument about whether a guy would play for Iowa and the kid hasn't even seen the field yet at ISU? Seems a bit premature.
So two 4* guys on the two deeps the next two seasons leaving plenty of room for 2 or 3 star guys (like a Newell).

Good-Jones maybe. Not Meeker. With Good-Jones at C it would bump Render back to G. Plus it'll be interesting to see how your OL develops with the new OL coach. Wasn't he a grad assistant last year?
Like I have said a couple times the past 24 hours, every thing on this site gets compared back to Iowa.
Four 4* guys on the two deeps the next two seasons following 2018, plus Jackson who probably should've been a 4* guy. But yeah, like I said, Newell would've provided depth for 3-4 years.
