Drake Coach to CO State

Back on the thread subject, I feel for the new recruits who will be coming to Drake to play for the now departed coach. Any recruit who has a LOI should be released and allowed to go any where except CSU.

SIAP, but apparently on Tuesday Medved told the AD that decided not to interview. Thursday he told the AD he was leaving. Not sure you want to burn that bridge......

Not exactly. He interviewed. The AD and him disagreed on whether it was appropriate for him to interview. On Tuesday he told the AD he wouldn’t take the job. Thursday he told him yes.

My guess as to the timeline:
Tuesday CSU thought they had someone hired. Medved "withdrew from consideration" when they told him they weren't hiring him and let the Drake AD know.
Wednesday CSU's hire turned them down. CSU went back to Medved and offered him the job.
Wednesday/Thursday Medved accepted.

You're assuming UNI and other like institutions can just flip a switch and change their entire mission as an institution. UNI was set forth by the legislature and BOR as a regional, master's level institution, or 'Normal School', that is there to offer education to people that want to go into more skilled and professional trades that don't necessarily require advanced degrees and extended schooling, i.e. Teachers and Accountants. UNI does not have the infastructure or funding to offer engineering, agricultural, medical, law degrees, etc. Nor should that be their mission. That's what the state's flagship universities are for. UNI does a damn good job of fulfilling its mission with a fraction of the budget put into the other two universities.

If UNI were to cease to exist or be defunded, where do those students go? The other factor is that over 80% of UNI grads stay in state. This state struggles to keep college educated people within its borders as it is.

UNI being a good Accounting school is a myth. You know why UNI was considered a good Accounting school? It's because they are allowed to have CPA Exam Review courses as part of their curriculum so thus they had a high number of their Accounting grads become CPA's. Iowa and Iowa State, because they are accredited institutions, are not allowed to have CPA Exam Review courses as part of their curriculum, if a accounting student wants to take a CPA Exam Review course they have to pay the couple thousand dollars for it (in addition to what they already pay in tuition.

What if Drake targeted Kyle Green (asst at UNI) and he brought AJ with him?

I love it.

On Murph and Andy today Murph brought up as total hypothetical joke that Drake see if Rick Pitino had some interest after a report came out of Chicago with Pitino saying he wants to get into coaching badly enough to take a job at a lower tier school.

LOL. That would be awesome, but "lower tier" is like Oklahoma State for Pitino.

Won't Pitino likely end up with a show cause penalty, at the very least? Why would any school hire him until that is known?
