I know Hopp is just teasing, but I'm surprised at the vitrole people will have towards older people on the internets, luckily it doesn't seem to spill over to real life to often. When your in your 20- early 30s you think you'll never get old and are bullet proof. Then once you get into your late 40's on up you wonder where the time went and life isn't as easy as in your 20's. Better than the alternative though.
Last sentence very true. Whenever someone complains about a birthday I just tell them that "There's only one cure for those and the side effects are hell."

Yeah - Hopp is just pushing buttons.

I think there's added fuel because so many older folk are not as adept at technology. But I have to laugh when kids brag about their skills in technology because they have mastered social media platforms or game boxes of one sort or another. My father helped to put a man on the moon. I think his technology skills (which made their devices possible) trump their skills! ;)

Forgot to mention that I thought of @BoxsterCy when we were at Cinderella the other night. When the fairly god mother turns from a crazy homeless lady into well the fairy god mother Cinderella says "How can you be dressed in such a beautiful dress? You are a crazy lady." The response... "Dear there are many crazy ladies in beautiful dresses."

I've been having to increase my computer skills and it is slow going. I cheat and get my nieces to help set up the templates. Once something is set up I can push the buttons and enter stuff. I just need to have it preset for me. Luckily it only costs me bringing them supper.:)

I will freely admit my smart phone is smarter than I am. I spent a 40-year career growing up with computers that originally were glorified typewriters, or took up an entire room (or three) and were fed tapes or cards and now have the computing power of that three-room machine in my phone. It DOES get harder to learn the new stuff. Because of the work I did and the skill upgrades I had to make just to DO my job, I chose to pay less attention to the other stuff. About the only "coding" I can do is a little bit of html, which was required by the early bulletin boards that didn't have the cheat buttons for bolding, colors, fonts, etc that we have now.
Give me a well-written program that performs the functions I need it to perform, teach me how to use it, and I'm golden. Don't expect me to be the one writing a program...or trouble-shooting & fixing a poorly written one!

And get off my damn lawn!!!

Off to see the vampire lady(s).

Left arm or right arm? Smile, talk about the weather and her kids. Stab, suck.

Hope it's the petite little pixy with the tiny soft voice.

Well the little pixy checked me in but a new vampire did the needle work. Good enough.

I can remember thinking to myself "No way I say to my kids the things my parents said to me." That didn't hold true. And at 25, I thought 55 was ancient. 55 has been in my rear-view mirror for several years now, but I don't feel ancient. (I probably look ancient to my grandkids!)

As for the Generation arguments, I find it difficult to label people because of when they were born. The world changes - sometimes profoundly - each and every day. If you don't keep up, you'll just get sucked into the maelstrom. We're all learning every day, too - I hope, anyway - and it's how we choose to apply that learning that makes us who we are.

Peace out.
