I can remember thinking to myself "No way I say to my kids the things my parents said to me." That didn't hold true. And at 25, I thought 55 was ancient. 55 has been in my rear-view mirror for several years now, but I don't feel ancient. (I probably look ancient to my grandkids!)
As for the Generation arguments, I find it difficult to label people because of when they were born. The world changes - sometimes profoundly - each and every day. If you don't keep up, you'll just get sucked into the maelstrom. We're all learning every day, too - I hope, anyway - and it's how we choose to apply that learning that makes us who we are.
